ions, electrons or any other elementary entities as there are carbon atoms in exactly 12 gm of .
There are three definitions (equalities) of mole. They are: 1 mole = 6.02 x 1023 particles 1 mole =
molar mass (could be atomic mass from periodic table or molecular mass) 1 mole = 22.4 L of a
gas at STP
Activity 1: The mole the merrier
Baby mole is having his final examination tomorrow. His teacher gave him study guide so that he can
answer his examination tomorrow. Can you help him?
Objective: In doing this activity, the students will face scrambled words with definition. It is their
task to uncover these scrambled words so that they will know the meaning of such words.
OLEM- The mass of substance containing the same number of fundamental units as there
are atoms in exactly 12.000 g of 12C.
GOVDASOAR MUBREUN- 6.023 x1023
TAMO- are the basic building blocks of ordinary matter.
OLUEMELC- is the smallest particle in a chemical element or compound that has the
chemical properties of that element or compound.
LAMOR SAMS- (M) is a physical property defined as the mass of a given substance
(chemical element or chemical compound) divided by the amount of substance.
DAMEOA VOGRADAO- most noted for his contribution to molecular theory now known
as Avogadro's law, which states that equal volumes of gases under the same conditions
of temperature and pressure will contain equal numbers of molecules.
ACTIVITY 2: The mole’s maze
Its winter season, ang the moles don’t have enough food to eat. They heard that there are a bunch of
foods inside the maze. And they really need your help. Can you help them?
Objective: In doing this activity, the students will face different questions with choices from each. Each
answer leads to a path, may it be a dead end or the way towards to their victory, to the food. It is in YOUR
hands to help them.
How many grams are in 2.4 moles of sulfur? A. 77 grams B. 90 grams C. 80 grams
How many moles are in 22 grams of argon? A. 0.55 moles B. 0.89 moles C. 74 moles
How many grams are in 88.1 moles of magnesium? A. 2080 grams B. 2140 grams C. 1900 grams
How many moles are in 2.3 grams of phosphorus? A. 1 mole B. 0.91 moles C. 0.074 moles
How many grams are in 4.5 moles of sodium fluoride, NaF? A. 190 grams B. 210 grams C. 200 grams
How many grams are in 3.3 moles of potassium sulfide, K2S? A. 400 grams B. 360 grams C. 310 grams
How many moles are in 1.2 x 103 grams of ammonia, NH3? A. 71 moles B. 69 moles C. 50 moles
Objective: In doing this activity, the students will face questions from various moles, whether it is true or
false. If the question is TRUE, then color it RED and if FALSE, color it BLUE.
1st mole: Avogadro’s law states that equal volumes of gasses under the same conditions of temperature
and pressure will contain equal numbers of molecules.
5th mole: One mole of a substance is equal to the molecular mass of the same substance
