Psychology:
The scientific study of behavior and metal processes and
how a person is affected by physical and external
environment.

Positive Psychology:
Positive psychology is a science of positive aspects of
human life such as happiness, well-being and flourishing.
On a more scientific note it is the study of optimal human
functioning that aims to discover and promote the
factors that allow individuals and communities to thrive.
On an individual note it concentrates on qualities like:
1. Positive experiences (like happiness, joy, inspiration,
and love)
2. Positive states and traits (like gratitude, resilience,
and compassion)
As a field, positive psychology spends much of its time
thinking about topics like character strengths, optimism,
life satisfaction, happiness, well-being, gratitude,
compassion (as well as self-compassion), self-esteem and
self-confidence, hope, and elevation.
Does Money play an important role in happiness?
From a bird’s eye perspective if we want to differentiate
between black or white, then it can be concluded that
money does not play a vital role in happiness.
Explanation:
As with most sources of happiness, experience is the
object which grants us the satisfaction by satiating our
need of attaining an object.
The procedure of attaining the object will reinforce our
struggle and want of achieving that object which in the
end will be impacted by choices either reducing or
increasing the level of satisfaction thereby the level of
happiness.
As an example, take a child who wants a toy. If the child
attains it by trading for a bit of work (a minor one) then
the level of satisfaction the child gets is far greater than
where he simply obtains it by spending money.
In the other case where the child wants ice-cream,
commanding him to make an ice-cream will lead to
frustration, hence utilizing money to satiate the need will
boost the satisfaction.
It cannot be overruled that money doesn’t play a role
here. When the struggle becomes too much, a form of
relief in this case money contributes to give an instant
relief and satiates the need.
However continuous iteration of the process can cause
degraded level of satisfaction which in the long term
leads to unhappiness.
Hence it can be concluded that money does not play an
important role in happiness.
However it mutates the question to:
Does Money contribute to happiness?
From a bird eye perspective, this time the answer will be
a yes.
Explanation:
Reinforcing the fact that happiness is obtained by the
satisfaction of attaining a certain need, it can also be
interpreted as the immediate need and the time it would
take to attain it alters the level of satisfaction.
In many cases the struggle to obtain the object will alter
our environment drastically. This can either be good or
bad depending upon the resilience of an individual.
However in most cases the burden will be too much to
bear a need for relief arises, which in turn helps to
quench the stress thereby reinforcing our need.
Take an example of a person in a company who aims to
become the chief, although his role and his needs are
satisfying his/her conscious, so are his responsibilities
taxing his/her mental state.
As every good decision satisfies them, so does a bad
decision taxes their mind heavily.
At a moment like this, if a person chooses to spend a
comfortable vacation it without thinking about the
burden of affordability then, then it surely relieves them
of their mental fatigue and increases their resilience and
reinforcing their beliefs.
Notice that money plays an underhanded yet subtle role
in the person’s ability to cope with their surroundings.
Hence money spent on experiences which reinforce a
person’s mental state does play a key role in their
happiness.
Conclusion:
 Psychology is the study of behavior of a person.
 Positive psychology studies positive aspects and
studies how to live a healthy meaningful live.
 Money directly doesn’t affect a person’s happiness
level.
 Money does have an importance in the contribution
of happiness and the level of satisfaction of a pers.

Money doesn’t give happiness, Money well spent does.
