Abstract
This paper present study of procedure for synthesis of nano fluid. Nanofluid is the colloidal mixture of base fluid (water, glycol
etc.) and nano particles (1-100nm). It is the new concept of heat transfer for different engineering applications & various fields.
This paper summarizes the recent research in studies on heat transfer of nanofluid. The TEM photograph of cuO is given to
determine the stability & regularity of suspension. This paper presents the brief range of current and future applications in various
field like mechanical, electrical, transportation, solar absorption & biomedical field.

I. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, there is increase in development of electronic industries but the major problem occur in electronic component is
excessive heating of components. This excessive heat can be extract by using heat pipes and oscillating heat pipes. In heat pipes
different working fluids are used such as nanofluids, hybrid nanofluids, and water. Nanofluid is the improvement in
nanotechnology, the synthesis of particles size upto certain nanometers. Mixing of nanoparticles in base fluid is called nanofluid.
Suspension of nanoparticle improves thermal conductivity of fluid. Different particle material are used to prepare nanofluid such
as Al2O3, CuO, SiC, TiC, Ag, Cu & Fe. Carbon nanotubes also used their thermal conductivity is extremely high. In nanofluid
water, ethylene glycol & engine oil are used as base fluid, to increase the stability of nanoparticles some amount of additives is
added in base fluid. The researchers are working on different design of heat pipe. It consists of different sections like evaporator,
condenser& adiabatic section which connects condenser & evaporator section.
A. Preparation of Nanofluid
There are generally two different ways to produce nanofluid, two-step method & one-step method. In the two-step method, in the
first step nanoparticles are prepared and the second step is the mixing the nanoparticles & base fluid. Two-step method is beneficial
for mass production of nanofluids, by using the method of inert gas condensation nanoparticles can be made in large amounts. The
main difficulty of the two-step method is the nanoparticles forms group of particle due to that nanoparticle unable to properly mix
with base fluid.
In one-step method, the making of nanoparticles and properly mixing of nanoparticles in the base fluid into a single step.
The most common methods is direct evaporation one-step method, in this method the nanofluid is made by the condensation of
gas phase nanoparticle in the base fluid. In one-step method, nanoparticle properly mix with base fluid as compared to two-step
method. But the main drawback of one-step method is not suitable for mass production.
III. CONCLUSION
Heat pipes are most widely used as heat exchanger device to extract the heat from any mechanism. Use of nanofluid in oscillating
heat pipe can increase the efficiency. Nanofluid of different cons can be formed for different application. Heat pipe have wide
range of application in various fields such as biomedical, automobile, electronics, transportation, etc.
