In ZXUR 9000, process boards are responsible for the control plane and user plane
processing. Switch boards provide system control, data switch, system operation
and maintenance. Interface boards are responsible for the transmission interface
and protocol processing.
Switching Board
Boards Full Name Function Description Conf. Principle
Enhanced GE Handles switching in BASE, namely control plane;
EGBS Base Switch provides switching channels for all intra-shelf and load sharing
board inter-shelf communication in control plane.
Handles switching in FABRIC, namely media

plane. Provides clock function.
EAPB Enhanced ATM Process Board Offer interface for ATM over STM-1 Apply to UMTS only
EGPB Enhanced GE Process Board Offer GE interfaces Apply to GSM and UMTS

Transmission Overhead
which:
T_CS: Total throughput of CS
N_Erl: Number of Erl for CS 12.2K
Rd: Ratio of DL
The formula has not yet considered the transmission redundancy (RelayT), same as the following
calculation of other interface.
IUB bandwidth
B_IubCS= T_CS* (1+ R_Iub)/ (1- CIubCS)
T_CS_Ui= N_Erl* 12.2K* VAF = 123950*12.2*0.5 = 756095 kbps = 738.4 Mbps
R_Iub = 0.2
B_IUbCS = 738.4 * (1+0.2)/(1-0.62) = 2331.789 Mbps
IUB bandwidth
B_IubSig= Rsig * ( B_IubCS + B_IubPS ) = 0.06 (14846+ 2332 ) = 1030 Mbps
IuCS Interface
B_IuCS_Ui=T_CS_Ui/ (1- C_IuCS)
In which:
IuPS Interface
B_IuPS_DL= T_PS* Rd/ (1- C_IuPS_DL)
