Statement of the Problem

Most of the teenagers do not know the importance of Palaran Festival. It

makes us curious for the reason that most of the barangay in Siaton are not

celebrating festivals. Mostly, the Cities and Provinces have their own

festivals but a barangay celebrating a festival is not usual. It drives us to go

further research about our topic since we are curious to find out the answer

that will satisfy our curiosity.

1. When did Bonawonians starts to celebrate Palaran festival?

2. Why is it necessary to celebrate the Palaran festival?

3. Why is it named Palaran?

4. Is our barangay officials can afford an extravagant celebration?

5. What are the different activities that can be seen in Palaran festival?

6. Who is the founder of Palaran festival?

7. Why is it celebrated in April 5?

8. Why is it importance to wear costumes for parade?

9. Is “Palaran” a method of fishing?

10. Is it connected to the bounty season of fish?

Chapter 6: Recommendation

We, researchers, recommend that:

1. Bonawonians should preserve their traditional beliefs.

2. The Barangay should give lectures and conduct awareness to the people

of Barangay before they celebrate the festival.

3. The future researchers are encourage to conduct similar studies by using

other method like comparison of awareness of millennial and old aged

resident of the barangay.
