Deskripsi Matakuliah:

Matakuliah ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan mahasiswa agar mampu menggunakan Bahasa
Inggris untuk mengakses informasi sesuai bidang studi masing-masing. Kegiatan perkuliahan
berfokus pada kegiatan membaca yang dimaksudkan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan membaca
teks akademik yang mencakup: finding topics and main ideas, finding explicit and implicit
information, guessing meaning of words in context, differentiating facts and opinions, summarizing
and note taking, dan understanding discourse markers. Kegiatan perkuliahan di dalam kelas berupa
praktik membaca, diskusi, tugas-tugas individu maupun kelompok baik offline maupun online.
Penilaian hasil belajar berdasarkan pada partisipasi kelas, tugas-tugas kelompok maupun individual,
Ujian tengah semester dan Ujian akhir semester.

Pengalaman Belajar: Mahasiswa mendapatkan pengalaman belajar berupa membaca teks-teks


akademik, mengerjakan tugas-tugas baik di dalam kelas maupun di luar kelas secara offline maupun
online, dan berdiskusi.
