Abstract
Background: Transthoracic Needle Aspiration (TTNA) with thoracic CT – guidance is invasive
methods used to diagnose malignancy in the lung. The purpose of this study was to determine the
diagnostic accuracy TTNA with thoracic CT - guidance in the diagnosis of lung cancer.

Methods: The study design was a diagnostic study on 45 subjects suspected of having lung cancer
since February 2015 until February 2016. The results of cytologic TTNA with the thoracic CT-
guidance confirmed by the end of the Reference Standard is based on the combined modality
diagnostic conducted on the subject.

Results: From 45 subjects were found 36 (80%) were male, 9 (20%) women. The age range of 16-78
years with an average of 49.07 years. The results of cytologic interpretation TTNA C1, C2, C3, C4, C5
are respectively 8.9%, 26.67%, 2.2%, 0%, and 62.23%. Diagnostic accuracy TTNA with thoracic CT-
guidance of 86.8%, sensitivity 78.3% and specificity 100%. There is no complications was found in
this study.

Conclusion: TTNA with thoracic CT- guidance is safe and accurate diagnostic for diagnosis lung
cancer
