Notes:
The following table lists all the malfunctions, with the corresponding 5-digit code
numbers, that can be recognized by the Airbag Control Module -J234- and printed
out by the V.A.G 1551/ VAS 5051.
The most current information for airbag coding can only be found using the VAS
5051. To access this information through Guided Fault Finding press the "Go to"
button, and select "Function/Component selection". Follow the prompts through to
Body, General body repairs, 01-Systems capable of self-diagnosis, Airbag,
Functions, Code control unit for Airbag.
When repair has been carried out, the DTC memory must always be checked again
with the V.A.G 1551/ VAS 5051 Scan Tool and erased.
In addition, the malfunction type may also appear in the DTC table.

This has no influence on the function of the comfort system and is therefore of no
consequence. Erase DTC memory.

Notes:
The DTC table is listed according to the 5 digit malfunction code on the left.
Before replacing components indicated as being inoperative, check the wiring and
connectors to these components as well as the Ground connections using wiring
diagram. This is particularly relevant if malfunctions are output as "occurring
sporadically" (SP).
The DTC "No communication" can also appear with the door control modules. This
has no influence on the function of the comfort system and is therefore of no
consequence. Erase DTC memory.
