ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
Annual Celebration of Nutrition Month
SY 2017-2018

Background and Rationale:

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum no. 105 s. 2017, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) leads the whole
nation in the Celebration of the 2016 Nutrition Month this July. The main purpose of this celebration is to
disseminate nutrition related messages to all Filipinos through the focal theme Healthy Diet, Gawing habit-for
Life!.
Every year at the month of July, our school is conducting activities or programs to enhance students’
awareness regarding their nutritional status to prevent malnutrition. This year, NNC and DepEd promote the right
choice of food and encourage a well-balanced diet which is very important to achieve healthy body and mind;
therefore, they’ll become functional and successful citizens and reduce health problems that arises mainly due to or
triggered by the food intake. It is better to start from the young generations to ensure them a healthy future.

Objectives:

1. Promote the consumption of healthier foods and discourage the eating of unhealthy foods;
2. To encourage the all students to eat a balanced diet with a variety of food in the right quantity
and maintaining an ideal body weight to reduce obesity and non-communicable diseases;
3. Create awareness among them on making the right choices of food; and
4. To demonstrate dance exercises without age limit that will help in reducing weight and bad
fats stored in the body.
