FIRST SEMESTER 2015-16
(Course Handout (Part II)
06 January 2018

In addition to Part I (General Handout for all courses appended to the time table, this portion gives
further specific details of the course

Course No.: EEE F-244; INSTR F-244

Course Title: Microelectronic Circuits

Instructor-in-Charge: Dipankar Pal

Team of Instructor: Dipankar Pal and Chembiyan Thambidurai

1. Course Description

This is the first course that introduces the techniques of analysis and design of integrated analog circuit-
elements using MOS and bipolar devices to the FG-students. The course also introduces Cadence-design
tools for circuit design under unstructured aspect.

2. Scope and Objective

This course covers different analog building blocks like amplifiers, current mirrors, simple op-amps and
feed-back-stages used in integrated circuits; and presents the technique of designing them, and
analyzing them in time and frequency domain. The objective is to give a broad, preliminary overview of
circuit-blocks used to design a complete integrated circuit. After doing this course the students should
develop the ability to understand how integrated electronic circuits/ building blocks behave and how to
design a complete circuit for a specific purpose.
