Practical 1: Conversation between a tourist and tourist agent comparing
hotels

Tourist agent: Good morning sir and madam
Tourists: Goog morning!
Tourist agent: Welcome to the Tourism Office in Santa Rosa city
Tourists: Oh, thank you
Tourist agent: Can I help you?
Tourists: Yes, we are sharing a hotel near the city centre.
Tourist agent: Sure, I can offer different hotels. The Calfucura Hotel, the San
Martin Hotel and the Cuprum Hotel.
Tourists: What is the hotel closer to the center?
Tourist agent: The San Martin Hotel is closer than Cumprum Hotel and
Calfucura Hotel.
This hotel is located four blocks from the main square, in the heart of the city.
Tourists: Which is the hotel that has more rooms?
Tourist agent: Is the Calculfucura hotel, has 77 rooms.
Tourists: And, which is the more economical hotel?
Tourist agent: The San Martin Hotel is more economical than Cumprum Hotel
and Calfucura Hotel.
Tourists: Oh, thank you for the information!
Tourist agent: You are welcome, have a nice day!

Practical 2: Thermal Springs Guatrache
The thermal bats are located in the Samuel Novick Recreational Park, of 12
kilometers from the town of Guatrache. In the southeast of La Pampa province.
Guatrache is located of 182 kilometers of Santa Rosa city.
The access to Guatrache id done by the provincial route 24.
There is two thermal pools, one of which is covered for so that tourists may use
it in winter.
One of the pools is located next to the lagoon, which allows to contemplate a
beautiful landscape during the moment of relaxation.
Thermal water emerges at 32 degrees from natural springs.
The healing properties of thermal water are very beneficial for different skin
conditions. The mud of the lagoon is very beneficial for the skin.
The tourist can stay in the hotel located inside the area, with rooms with private
bathrooms and heating. .
In addition, a camping area is available with grills and bathrooms with showers.
There is a restaurant with a high gastronomic level and excellent service.
In summer the Provincial Festival of Tourism is celebrated here.
The thermal baths of Guatrache are smaller than the Bernardo Larroude Thermal,
ubicated to the north of La Pampa province. .
Unfortunately, the thermal springs are closed at the moment.

Practical 3: How to improve our local VIC (Visitor Information Center)

Introduction

Two foreigners, Rebecca from the United States of America and Abigail from the
United Kingdom. Visited our Tourism Office and the trade market.
Following a survey that we prepared in class, they answered our questions:

About the staff

The girls mentioned that in the morning the staff introduced themselves and
offered thow a very good map of Santa Rosa city, a bag and nice leaflets, but in
the afternoon they did not speak English. They were not very friendly or helpful
because they did not answer their questions.

Displays

The girls explained that they gave them some leaflets and brochures in Spanish
but not in English or other languages.

The crafts market

The souvenirs on sale were expensive bacause they are handmade products.
The staff did not recommend anithyng and there was not an exhibition anytering.

About interactive/ digital resources

The web page was not complete and informative. There was not a calendar of
local celebrations or festivals. Fort he kids it was boring because they corred not
use technology.

But there are also aspects in need of improvement, mainly

 A better staff attention in the afternoon and bilingual leaflets for the tourist.
 The staff at the crafts market recommended our products to the tourist who
can buy handmade products.
 Ilntroduce a calendar on the website of local celebrations and festivals.
 Introduce epigraph in the potos of local places.
 Introduce more technology for the children and tourist, to make info more
interactive.

Practical 4: 24 hour tour: One day in Rome
The tourist will visit Rome, it’s located in Italy. This place has a lot of beautiful
places to visit. The tour will be done walking. .
10 am: breakfast in the D’Angelo coffee and we will drink a coffee with croissants.
11 am: visit to the Coliseum and the surroundings. 1 pm: the tourist will have
lunch in Squisito Cook restaurant. Located at front of Coliseum.

Our menu will be four plates:

 Antipasto (entry): cheeses, raw ham, olives, mozzarella, tomato, seafood,

mushrooms, salami and artichoke
 Primo piatto (first course): spaghetti al pomodoro
 Secondo piatto (second course): bistec a la fiorentina
 Il Dolce (dessert): torta di limone (lemon pie)
 Coffee or digestive (limoncello or grappa)

4 pm: We will visit the Vatican City. We are going to arrive there a bus. We will
have time to visit the San Pedro square and Sistine Chapel.
6 pm: the tourist will visit the Fontana di Trevi. Baroque style is appreciated in
architecture and sculptures. Its beautiful landscape at sunset with the luminary.
10 pm: going to a bar to drink wine and beer.

The picturesque región of the Uco, Valley, in the Mendoza province.
This province is located in the west of the Argentina.
This región is famous por its high quality wines with great value in the world.
We can visit different wineries, and try different wines.
Duration: approx: 9 hours.
Departure: 8 am
Arrive: 5 pm

Visit of Domain Bousquet winerie – lunch in this winerie after the tour.
Visit Adeluna winerie – free time to buy gifts / souvenirs.
Visit Salenteine winerie and art gallery, unique in the province.

Practical 6: Tour for Purmamarca
Purmamarca is located in the North of Argentina, in the province of Jujuy. The
distance to the capital is 65 Km. It is located at a height of 2324 meters above
sea level. It has a population of 891 inhabitants.
It´s wonderful environment makes it one of the most beatiful villages in the
Quebrada de Humahuaca.
The distance that separates it from Buenos Aires is 1560 Km.
It can be accessed by plane. People can travel from Buenos Aires to San
Salvador de Jujuy. The flight takes one hour and 45 minutes.
People can travel by can through land route from Buenos Aires, with a duration
of 29 hours.
The price of the flight ticket is U$ 139.
The bus price is U$ 136.
Purmamarca offers a wide variety of accommodation, for example, Ecological
cabins that cost U$ 32, hostels with a cost of U$ 49, and hotels with a cost of U$
88. All prices ore for one night.
The square is in front of the Santa Rosa de Lima Church, buit in 1648 and
declared a National Historic Monument.
Another important buiding is the colonial town hall, it is known as the smallest in
the country.
Cerro Siete Colores is the most photographed mountain in the country.
It is famous for its shades of colors that provide dofferent minerals, which give it
a very particular beauty.
The Paseo de los Colorados is a three kilometer circuit that takes place on an
unpaved road ideal for hiking and enjoying the landscape and geological
formations.
This tour begins in the village and passes through the local cementery.
Among the activities tourists can do, they enjoy the typical foods, which are very
important: locro, humita, charqui (dehydrated meat), chicha (alcoholic beverage
made of corn) and sweet cayote.

P2: It is imposible. Please, look again.
R: I´m afraid that it isn´t one error.
You can obtain inmediatly one, in the office just on the first floor.
P2: Thank you for your atention, see you later as son as we solve the problem.
R: I will be waiting for you here.

Practical 8: An email giving holiday advice

Subject: Visiting La Pampa in October 2019, 11 June 2019
Dear Madam:
I thank you por four mail. .
In reference to your question. I am recommend The Campiña Club Hotel and
Spa, for your enjoyment in our city. It is located 4,2 kilometers of away Santa
Rosa city, and 6,3 kilometers from the airport. .
It is worth going to The Recreational Park Lagoon Don Tomas, here you can visit
the Children Island, it has different games for children, you can travel by train.
Also you should stay ultil the sunset, you can look at a beautiful landscape.
If, you wish you can visit the Spanish Theater, here you can see shows for
children and adults.It is located in the center of the city.
I recommend the Rural Restaurant, this place has a space with games for the
kids, and with people who accompany them. Their food is very good.
