RESEARCH QUESTIONS

This study aims to determine Reading comprehension: Link to writing skills enhancement. This

are the questions the study aspires to answer: 1. Is there a direct correlation between reading

comprehension and writing skills? 2. Is the improvement in reading comprehension skills

transferable to writing skills? 3. Is there consistency in the correlation of reading comprehension

test scores and writing test score before and after intervention?

Instrument
The instrument to be used is a combination of reading comprehension test and writing test. The

items will be grouped according to the skills being tested. Each reading comprehension test will

be paired with a writing test. The reading comprehension test and writing test will revolve

around the same topic. The reading comprehension test is in multiple choice format. The writing

test will be evaluated using a rubric. The scores are recorded separately. The instruments’ design

is originally conceptualized by the researcher in order to address the targets of the research. The

instruments to be used in the pre-test and post-test of this research will be evaluated by the

master teachers of the English Department of Angeles City National High School. The

instruments will be tested to examine the reliability and validity to ensure accuracy in gathering

the necessary data to be used.
