General Instructions:

(i) All the questions are compulsory.


(ii) The question paper consists of 30 questions divided into 4 sections A, B, C and D.
(iii) Section A comprises of 6 questions of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2
marks each. Section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each. Section D comprises of 8
questions of 4 marks each.
(iv)There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in two questions
of 1 mark each, two questions of 2 marks each, four questions of 3 marks each and three
questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt to only one of the alternatives in all such
questions.
(v) Use of calculator is not permitted.

Section 'A'
1. In the given figure, AOB is a diameter of the circle with centre O and AC is a tangent to
the circle at A. If ∠BOC = 130, then find ∠ACO. 1 mark
2. Two cubes each of volume 𝟖𝒄𝒎 𝟑 are joined end to end, then what is the surface area of
resulting cuboids. 1 mark

3. The diameter of a wheel is 1.26m. What is the distance covered in 500 revolutions? 1 mark

Give three sides such that construction of a triangle is possible.

4. If x=3 is one root of the quadratic equatio 𝒙𝟐 − 𝟐𝒌𝒙 − 𝟔 = 𝟎 , then find the value of k.

5. If circumference of a circle is 88cm, find its area. 1 mark

In the given figure, in what ratio does P divide AB internally?

6. Find the first four terms of an AP whose first term is -2 and common difference is -2.

11. A metallic solid sphere of radius 4.2cm is melted and recast into the shape of a solid
cylinder of radius 6cm. Find the height of the cylinder. 2 marks

Prove that the area of an equilateral triangle described on one side of the square is

20. If 𝒄𝒐𝒔 + 𝒔𝒊𝒏 = 𝟐 𝒄𝒐𝒔 , show that 𝒄𝒐𝒔 − 𝒔𝒊𝒏 = 𝟐𝒔𝒊𝒏. 3marks

22. Prove that the points (7, 10), (-2, 5) and (3, -4) are the vertices of an isosceles right
triangle. 3marks

Section 'D'
23. A man repays a loan of Rs. 3250 by paying Rs. 20 in the first month and then increases
the payment by Rs. 15 every month. How long will it take him to clear the loan? 4marks
OR

An arithmetic progression 5, 12, 19, .... has 50 terms. Find its last term. Hence find
the sum of its last 15 terms.

24. Two poles of equal height are standing opposite to each other on either side of the road
which is 80m wide. From a point P between them on the road, the angle of elevation of
the top of a pole is 𝟔𝟎𝟎 and the angle of depression from the top of another pole at point
P is 𝟑𝟎𝟎 . Find the heights of the poles and the distances of the point P from the poles.

25. A number x is selected at random from the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4. Another number y is
selected at random from the numbers 1, 4, 9 and 16. Find the probability that product
of x and y is less than 25. 4marks

26. Find HCF of 81 and 237 and express it as a linear combination of 81 and 237 i.e., HCF

(81, 237) = 81x + 237y for some x and y. 4marks

OR

Three sets of English, Hindi and Sociology books dealing with cleanliness have to be
stacked in such a way that all the books are stored topic-wise and the height of each
stack is the same. The number of English books is 96, the number of Hindi books is
240 and the number of Sociology books is 336.

(i) Assuming that the books are of the same thickness, determine the number of
stacks of English, Hindi and Sociology books.

(ii) Which mathematical concept is used in the problem?

27. The difference of two numbers is 5 and the difference of their reciprocal is 1/10. Find
the numbers. 4marks

28. Prove that in a right angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to sum of
squares of other two sides. Using the above result, prove that, in rhombus ABCD,

29. In the given figure, the ∆𝑨𝑩𝑪 is drawn to circumscribe a circle of radius 4 cm, such that

30. The distribution of monthly wages of 200 workers of a certain factory is as given below:
