DEFINITION OF TERMS

Bohemian Attire - incorporates various ethnic clothing style, as well as historical costumes.
It consists of loose, colourful clothing also known as boho chic, hippie
style and aesthetic dress.
Casual Wear - are informal yet comfortable clothing which are a combination of
corporate/ business outfit, smart casual and street style.
Denim Jeans - a thick strong cotton cloth often blue in color and twill-weave fabric.
Candidates may wear tattered jeans.
Note: Skirts more than 3 inches above knee level are strictly prohibited.
Audience Impact - positive crowd support by means of cheers, chants and claps.
Beauty and Grace - feeling good and looking good while maintaining poise on stage.
Confidence - the ability to compose, assertiveness, and firmness on stage.
Content & Relevance – pertain to the answer that directly responds to the question.
Diction & Coherence- the delivery of the answer without unnecessary pauses, hesitations, fillers
or stuttering.
Grammar & Pronunciation – correct sentence construction, word usage and lexical resource.
Stage Presence - the ability to command the attention of the audience by impressiveness
of the candidate’s appearance.
Note: Minor Awards for Best in Costume will be awarded in each category (Bohemian, Denim
and Casual)both for female and male candidates. Scores from the three categories will be
combined and shall constitute to 50% of the total score. The other 50% will come from the Q&A
portion. The highest scorers shall be declared Mr. & Ms. College of Health Sciences 2019.
