1.4. State the process for defining the Vision and Mission of the Department, and PEOs of
the program (15)
The department vision and mission are derived from institute vision and mission. The department
of Computer Science and Engineering has set its vision “To contribute for the society through
excellence in Computer Science and Engineering with a deep passion for wisdom, culture and
values.’’, in line with the institute vision to emerge as a Center of Excellence for Learning and Research
in the domains of Engineering, Computing and Management. The engineering skills developed during the
course of study built around the personal as well professional accomplishments that will propel the
students to new heights in the competitive world market.
The mission of this department is mainly to “ Provide congenial academic ambience with
necessary infrastructure and learning resources, Inculcate confidence to face and experience

The Institution while starting the program B.Tech in CSE has established the vision, mission and
key deliverables of the programme with consideration to stakeholder expectations.
Graduates can
b. Apply techniques, skills, modern engineering concepts necessary for computing enabled
industries.
d. Develop solutions for automation and process industries using modern tools.
The Department Assessment and Quality Improvement committee annually meets to review the
status of the objectives and deliverables and the required academic infrastructure and administrative
setup for successful implementation of the program. After thorough analysis, keeping in view of the
Institution Vision and Mission, the Department has identified the following parameters for establishing the
program educational objectives for the graduates of the program.
In establishing the Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of the department, the following
steps were followed
Department Vision and Mission, Program deliverables are considered as the foundation
Step 1: for defining the PEOs of the department.

PEOs
PEO’s M1 M2 M3 M4
PEO Justifications
M1 Mission 1 related to provide learning resources which is the basic
requirement to create professional competency of the graduating students,
it is substantially correlated with PEO1.
M2 Mission 2 states the confidence to face the new challenges which is possible
through strong professional competency. Hence it is substantially correlated
PEO 1 with PEO1.
M4 Higher level confidence and domain expertise are the outsets of the
enterprising spirit which maps substantially with PEO1.
M4 Like the other mission elements which are mapping with PEO2 moderately,
M4 also correlates at medium level as the individual skills only support this
outcome.
M2 If one can continue his learning experience life long, his confidence level
may increase to face complex work environments and hence mission
statement 2 highly maps with PEO3.
PEO3
M3 Through continuing education, one can update his knowledge but it depends
on personal skills, so it maps moderately with PEO3.
