The students will be able to:

Explain (understanding) the significance of the Bayeux Tapestry in a worksheet with 90% accuracy.

Examine (analyzing) the Bayeux Tapestry to determine its meaning in a worksheet with 85% accuracy.

Assessment Tasks
The teacher will:
Formally assess the student’s ability to explain the significance of the Bayeux Tapestry in a worksheet with
90% accuracy by collecting and grading it.

Formally assess the student’s ability to examine the Bayeux Tapestry to determine its meaning in a worksheet
with 85% accuracy by collecting and grading it.

1. Struggling reader: Directions will be made orally. Additional time to complete the Bayeux Tapestry will
be given if necessary.

3. Gifted Student: Will be given more than one section of the tapestry to analyze.

5. Cognitive needs: Additional time to analyze the tapestry section will be given. Prompts and guided
questions will be given for the students.
6. Behavioral: Behavior chart will be used to monitor behavior. Breaks will be given if necessary.

Rubric/Scoring Criteria

The worksheet will be given a score out of 22, 1 point for each question.

Anticipatory Set

S: Will complete pride call on their worksheet

 Pride Call: “What is a tapestry?”

T: Will introduce the lesson by having students watch the YouTube video: Bayeux, France: Famous Medieval
Tapestry and review what they learned about yesterday. (1 min.)

S: Students will watch the video (3 min.)

Procedures and Content

T: Will assign students into groups of 2 or 3 and give each group a section (or two, depending on the class size).
(4 min.)

T: Will explain that they will read the “What’s the Story?” cards and answer the questions that go with their
assigned sections with their partner on their notes worksheet. (2 min.)

S: Will read their “What’s the Story?” cards, analyze their tapestry section, and answer the questions. (8 min.)

T: Will bring students back and explain that they will present their answers to the rest of the class. As groups
are presenting, students are expected to fill in the sections of the tapestry that their peers are presenting on in
their worksheet. (1 min.)

S: Will present their section of the Bayeux Tapestry. (18 min.)

Closure
T: Will ask student to explain the significance of the Bayeux Tapestry on their worksheet. (1 min.)

S: Will explain the significance of the Bayeux Tapestry. (3 min.)


T: Will review the objectives and explain the content for the next day. (1 min.)
