About the Training

Islamic banking is set to grow further. It is estimated that currently, assets of Islamic financial
institutions are now approaching US$400 billion. Islamic financial products are now sold in more
than 75 countries whereby Islamic market is expected to grow at annual rates averaging 15% in
the next decade. The Islamic market has become extremely sophisticated as well as increasingly
competitive.

This course emphasizes the evolutionary and interconnected nature of Islamic finance. It is specially
designed to provide comprehensive and practical knowledge on the core fundamentals in Islamic
banking and the related legal issues. Conducted by distinguished course trainers who have wide
industry experience in Islamic banking, this program will help develop knowledge and skill set
among the participants in one of the fastest growing sectors of the financial services industry i.e.
Islamic banking and finance.

The training will cover basic conceptual topics as well as provide real-life case studies to allow the
participants to appreciate both theoretical and practical aspects of Islamic finance. At the end of
this program, participants will be equipped with comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge that will
enhance participants’ confidence in handling issues on Islamic finance.

Mohd Lukman Abdull Mutalip



Mohd Lukman has Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & degree in law (LL.B) from
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is a member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and
Administrators (ICSA) and is currently attached to University of Malaya

Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip

Ahmad Lutfi graduated from the the International Islamic University Malaysia with an LL.B (Hons.)
in 1995. He is one of the founding partners of Azmi & Associates and has managed numerous exercises
including private debt securities and trade facilities; both conventional and Islamic
