Eva Dijkstra - Perfect Faces

Twodot Publishing 2019 ISBN 9780648106111 Acqn 29461
Hb 20x26cm 64pp 30col ills £38

Eva Dijkstra's bold and colourful work straddles the junction between painting, sculpture, art, and
design. Following in the tradition of minimalist paintings, shaped canvases, and hard-edge
design, her creations are minimal or even non-objective, and invite closer investigation. In
'Perfect Faces', Dijkstra applies her exceptional design savvy to a masquerade of 31
compositions within the proportions of the human face. With impactful geometric forms and solid
colours, each face is at once an imaginative composition and open to interpretation - a portrait
collection populated by knights, harlequins, apes, thieves, and so much more.

Ficciones Typografika – 1642

Formist 2019 ISBN 9780648465003 Acqn 29480
Pb 21x30cm 624pp col ills £77.50

Over a five-year period, a modest poster board hung in a Minneapolis neighbourhood; it became
a barometer for experimental typographic practice within the global design community. This
dense volume documents the entire project, which was curated by Erik Brandt, and features
works ranging from well-known designers to talented students. Conceptually approached like the
'Ficciones Typografika' project, the book is an expressive and visceral experience, rather than an
encyclopaedic documentation. It reproduces every installation of work along with an overprint of
the original posters. With a text by Ben DuVall and a conversation between Brandt and Paul
Schmelzer.

Inoue Tsuguya - The Burning Heaven

Little More 2019 ISBN 9784898155066 Acqn 29675
Hb 22x28cm 140pp 130ills £72.50

Tsuguya Inoue is often considered to be a graphic designer who is always pushing the limits of
visual language. His avant-garde designs integrate photography and typography to form new
ways of seeing the world. His intriguing series "The Burning Heaven" uses photographs of the
sun, moon, light, water, oil, plants, and other things to create fictitious universes. The floating
discs and cosmic swirls, all rendered in a stark spectrum of black, white, and greys, evoke
unknown planetary bodies and mysterious dark matter, eclipses and solar flares, and the ebb and
flow of universal energies that remain beyond our comprehension.
