Scope of Work

Occupational Health Checkup for GEDL Employees or Prescribed Persons

1. Location: GE Diesel Locomotive Factory, Marhowra, Saran, Bihar.

The heath checkups will be conducted by the vendor/pathologist in the Marhowra
factory premises and/or in Marhowra.

2. Scope of Work:
2.1. The scope of work is to conduct Pre-employment Health Checkup and Annual Health
Check Up for GEDL Marhowra employees / recommended persons. The health
checkups include:

• Complete Blood Count With ESR

• Lipid Screen
• Liver Screen
• Blood Sugar Fasting
• S. Creatinine
• Uric Acid
• Urine R/E
• ECG
• X-ray Chest
• Audiometry
• PFT
• Eye Visual

2.2. Act as authorized pathologist / centre to carry out pathological tests and provide
medical fitness certificate to GEDL vendor’s personnel. An agreement with GEDL might
be required. The tests include:
• Medical History
• Vision: visual acuity- distant & near vision, colour vision
• Hearing: Tuning fork- Rinne & Weber test
• Random Blood sugar (Glucosticx)
• Sputum for TB (or Chest X-ray)
• Giddiness: Vertigo test (Dix-hallipike test); Tidal volume (if engaged in Confined
Space work) {For working at height only}
• Fitness Certificate issued by the Physician

3. Period of Service: March 2019 to Feb 2019

4. Specific Terms and Condition:

4.1. Samples like blood, urine will be drawn/received at GEDL Occupational Healthcare
Clinic at GEDL Marhowra Factory by qualified / experienced technician sent by the
vendor with complete aseptic measures.
4.2. The person send by the vendor for collecting sample will report to GEDL Medical
Officer/Plant HR during general work shift hours (9:00AM to 6:00PM) as communicated
with the reporting persons.
4.3. All consumables / containers will be provided by the vendor for collecting samples. The
visiting technician will carry the same to GEDL Marhowra during each visit.
4.4. Schedule and number of employees for preemployment medical test / annual heath
check will be provided by Plant HR GEDL, Marhowra as and when required.
4.5. The test reports shall be sent to Plant HR, GEDL Marhowra within 3 days of collection
of sample.
4.6. No travel allowance/assistance will be provided by GEDL to the technician visiting
Marhowra site for collection of sample and performing healthcare tests.
4.7. The pathological test will be performed at concerned, well equipped laboratory by
qualified, experienced pathologist and technicians.
4.8. In case of damage/lost of samples or report the vendor shall communicate the same to
Plant HR, GEDL Marhowra asap and take corrective action.

5. Terms of Payment
Payment shall be made on the basis of actual number of preemployment health check
/ annual heath check conducted.
