Session Number 2 Session aim: Learners will have acquired the skills and knowledge to execute tasks associated with the
recruitment cycle and apply in-depth knowledge of the work of the organisation

Assisting in preparing job descriptions
Consulting with relevant personnel about job descriptions and workforce strategy
Assisting in ensuring that job descriptions comply with legislative requirements and reflect the organisation’s
requirements for a diverse workforce
Obtaining approvals to advertise position
 Plan for selection
Choosing appropriate channels and technology to advertise vacancies
Advertising vacancies for staffing requirements according to organisational policies and procedures
Consulting with relevant personnel to convene selection panel and develop interview questions
Assisting in short-listing applicants
Scheduling interviews and advise relevant people of times, dates and venues
 Support selection process
Participating in interview process and assess candidates against agreed selection criteria
Discussing assessment with other selection panel members
Contact referees for referee reports
Advising unsuccessful candidates of outcomes and respond to any queries
Completing necessary documentation according to organisational procedures
 Induct successful candidate
Providing successful candidate with employment contract and other documentation
Advising manager and work team of new appointment

may undertake to recruit new staff. List the headings.
