Fault Codes – P0200/97 – Injector Circuit open:

This fault code relates to the sensor feedback directly and is not related to the readings themselves.
Therefore, for this code to be received there has to be an inconsistency between the signal sent to
the EDU, and the signal received from the EDU.
Inspection:
Injector:
1.INSPECT INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

1. Disconnect the F5, F6, F7 and F8 injector connectors.

2. Measure the resistance of the injector.

Standard resistance:
Tester
Specified Condition
Connection
0.85 to 1.05 Ω at 20°C
1-2
(68°F)

If NOT GOOD > Replace injector

If GOOD > go to step 2

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INJECTOR - EDU)

1. Check the wire harness between the injector and EDU (INJ terminal).
1. Disconnect the F5, F6, F7 and F8 connectors.
2. Disconnect the I1 EDU connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
Specified
Tester Connection
Condition
F5-2 - I1-4 (INJ1) Below 1 Ω
F6-2 - I1-2 (INJ2) Below 1 Ω
F7-2 - I1-1 (INJ3) Below 1 Ω
F8-2 - I1-3 (INJ4) Below 1 Ω
F5-1 - I1-5 (COM1) Below 1 Ω
F6-1 - I1-6 (COM2) Below 1 Ω
F7-1 - I1-6 (COM2) Below 1 Ω
F8-1 - I1-5 (COM1) Below 1 Ω
F5-2 or I1-4 (INJ1) - 10 kΩ or
Body ground higher
F6-2 or I1-2 (INJ2) - 10 kΩ or
Body ground higher
F7-2 or I1-1 (INJ3) - 10 kΩ or
Body ground higher
F8-2 or I1-3 (INJ4) - 10 kΩ or
Body ground higher
F5-1 or I1-5 (COM1) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
F6-1 or I1-6 (COM2) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
F7-1 or I1-6 (COM2) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
F8-1 or I1-5 (COM1) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher

If NOT GOOD > Repair / Replace Harness

If GOOD > go to step 3

3.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (EDU - ECM)

1. Disconnect the I2 EDU connector.

2. Disconnect the E8 ECM connector.

3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:
Specified
Tester Connection
Condition
I2-6 (#10) - E8-24 (#1) Below 1 Ω
I2-3 (#20) - E8-23 (#2) Below 1 Ω
I2-2 (#30) - E8-22 (#3) Below 1 Ω
I2-5 (#40) - E8-21 (#4) Below 1 Ω
I2-7 (INJF) - E8-25
Below 1 Ω
(INJF)
I2-6 (#10) or E8-24 (#1) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
I2-3 (#20) or E8-23 (#2) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
I2-2 (#30) or E8-22 (#3) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
I2-5 (#40) or E8-21 (#4) 10 kΩ or
- Body ground higher
I2-7 (INJF) or E8-25 10 kΩ or
(INJF) - Body ground higher

If NOT GOOD> Repair / Replace Harness

If GOOD > go To Step 4

4.CHECK INJECTOR DRIVER (BATTERY VOLTAGE)

1. Disconnect the I1 and I2 EDU connectors.

2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard voltage:
Specified
Tester Connection
Condition
I1-8 (+B) - I2-1
9 to 14 V
(GND)

If NOT GOOD > Check the power supply circuit

If GOOD > Go to Step 5

5.CHECK ECM (INJECTOR VOLTAGE)

1. While idling the engine, check the waveform of the ECM connectors using an
oscilloscope.
2.

Standard voltage:
Specified
Tester Connection
Condition
E8-24 (#1) - E7-7 Correct waveform
(E1) is shown
E8-23 (#2) - E7-7 Correct waveform
(E1) is shown
E8-22 (#3) - E7-7 Correct waveform
(E1) is shown
E8-21 (#4) - E7-7 Correct waveform
(E1) is shown
E8-25 (INJF) - E7- Correct waveform
7 (E1) is shown
Tool Setting Condition
(a) 5 V/DIV., 20
msec./DIV. Idling with warm
(b) 2 V/DIV., 20 engine
msec./DIV.
HINT:
The waveform varies depending on the injector injection.

If NOT GOOD > Replace ECM

If GOOD > Go to Step 6

6. Replace EDU
