I. OBJECTIVE
Identifies the various types of speech context

Use the four types of speech context in promoting Bontoc, Southern Leyte through the use of multimedia.

2. TV, laptop, internet access if available.

B. Establishing a Purpose for the Lesson
a. The objective of the lesson for the day will be showed on-screen.
1. Activity
The teacher prepares various pictures of different groups of people engaged in a conversation.
-Ask the students what they have observed.
2. Analysis
This time, the teacher asks another student to describe the pictures being presented. She asks another student to
compare and contrast the pictures being presented. Moreover, she will also ask the following questions:
-How many speakers were there in the first picture? Second? Third? Fourth?
- Identify and describe the context/ situation on depicted in each video. (Students will write their answers on the
board)
- Based on the ideas given, what do you think is the speech context presented in each of the pictures?
3. Abstraction
Here, the teacher asks a volunteer to give the definition of a speech context. She will also ask the students to
identify the different types of speech context based on the given pictures. Encourage the students to answer the
question by giving points to whoever can give the correct definition of a speech context. Assign them to write dialogues
about Bontocanons while focusing on the different speech context.
4. Application
Now that you have your dialogues about Bontocanons, please keep that with you. You will need those dialogues
for the video that you will soon make.
Present to the students the Rubric for Assessment of the video that they will make. Key criteria could be accuracy,
neatness, creativity and appropriate use of the language. Show the students some of the videos made by the Grade 11 students
from the previous year.

V. EVALUATION
Observe some students from the other classroom and take note of the different speech context being used. Provide a
snapshot as well as the dialogues exchanged between and among them if possible.
VI. ASSIGNMENT
Answer page 34 in your books. Write your answers in your activity notebook.
