Geometry Construction Project Guidlines

I. You may work alone or with 1 (one) partner.

II. Choose the constructions you would like to complete from the
list below.
III. Create a rough draft of all CONSTRUCTIONS on lined paper.
IV. Create a final draft where you record how you decided to make
the construction in words, and show the construction using
colored pencil markings. You may only have 2 (two) final draft
constructions per page using the template below.
V. Assemble your portfolio with the rough draft constructions
grouped in order in the front, and your final draft constructions
with written analysis at the back.
VI. Present your portfolio with a COVER PAGE on time or early. NO
LATE PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
VII. Look to the examples posted on the walls for ideas on how to get
started.
VIII. Be sure to meet all the criteria listed below.

 a compass is used
 a straightedge is used
 no freehand lines or freehand arcs
 the drawing is clean
 templates used
 compass “marks” and arcs are evident and marked in different
colors
 all constructions are presented in a portfolio

Straightedge (Use the straightedge first to make the segment!
Use only the compass.)
Written Analysis: (Good Example) #11 Equilateral triangle.
I constructed a segment, used my compass to create equal arcs with that
segment, and drew new segments where the arcs intersected.

Written Analysis: (Poor Example) #11 Equilateral Triangle.

I made a triangle that looks like the sides are the same.
