3 pRRU3801 Cables
This describes the pRRU3801 cables of the following types: power cable, Ethernet cable, CPRI
optical cable, jumper.
Appearance
Figure 3-1 shows the power cable of the pRRU3801.
NOTE
The connectors at the X2 end should meet the power input standards of different countries. The cable shown
in Figure 3-1 is for your reference only.
Installation Position
The 3-pin female connector is linked to the port for AC power input on the power adapter,
whereas the 3-pin male connector is linked to the port on the external power supply system.
l When installing the pRRU3801 with electrical port in residential, light industrial, or commercial
areas, you can use the unshielded twisted pair cable that has passed the RS/RE 3 V test.
l When installing the pRRU3801 with electrical port in strong electromagnetic fields, such as
electrified railroads, power stations, substations, and large manufactories, you can use the shielded
twisted pair cable that has passed the RS/RE 10 V test.
Appearance
Both ends of the Ethernet cable have RJ45 connectors, as shown in Figure 3-2.
Pin Assignment
The Ethernet cable between the RHUB3808 and the pRRU3801 with electrical port can be a
straight-through cable or a crossover cable. Table 3-1 describes the pin assignment for the wires
of the Ethernet cable.
Table 3-1 Pin assignment for the wires of the Ethernet cable
X1 End Wire Wire X2 End (Straight- X2 End (Crossover
Color Type Through Cable) Cable)
Installation Position
The RJ45 connector at one end of the Ethernet cable is linked to the PWR_CPRI port on the
panel of the pRRU3801 with electrical port, whereas the RJ45 connector at the other end is
linked to one of the PWR0_CPRI0 to PWR7_CPRI7 ports on the panel of the RHUB3808.
Appearance
The CPRI optical cable is categorized into the multi-mode optical cable and the single-mode
optical cable. When the distance between the BBU and the pRRU is shorter than 100 m, the
multi-mode optical cable is required. When the distance between the BBU and the pRRU is
longer than 100 m, the single-mode optical cable is required. The single-mode optical cable
connects the BBU, ODF, and pRRU for transmitting the CPRI signal.
Multi-mode optical cable is a multi-mode 2-wire cable with DLC connectors at both ends. Figure
3-3 shows the multi-mode optical cable.
(1) DLC connector (2) Branch cable (3) Label on the branch cable
When the multi-mode optical cable is used for connection between the BBU and pRRU, the
branch cables at the BBU side and pRRU side are 0.34 m and 0.03 m respectively. When the
multi-mode optical cable is used for connection between pRRUs, the branch cables at both pRRU
sides are 0.03 m.
The single-mode optical cable has a DLC connector at one end and an FC connector at the other
end, as shown in Figure 3-4.
When the single-mode optical cable connects the BBU and the ODF, the length of the branch
cables on the BBU side is 0.34 m, and the length of the branch cables on the ODF side is 0.8 m.
When the single-mode optical cable connects the ODF and pRRU, the length of the branch cables
on the pRRU is 0.03 m, and the length of the branch cables on the ODF side is 0.8 m.
NOTE
The CPRI optical cable must be connected to the optical module in the CPRI port on the BBU or RHUB. The
multi-mode optical cable and single-mode optical cable are used with the multi-mode optical module and single-
mode optical module.
Pin Assignment
Table 3-2, Table 3-3 and Table 3-4 describe the pin assignment for the branch cables of the
CRPI optical cable. These connections are recommended.

2B Blue ODF
Appearance
One end of the cable is an SMA male connector, and the other end is an N-type connector, as
shown in Figure 3-5.
Installation Position
The SMA male connector of the jumper is linked to the ANT_TX/RX port on the panel of the
pRRU3801, whereas the N-type connector is linked to the same type of connector on the RF
feeder that connects to the indoor antenna.
