Lesson Plan #6 Title: Test Day

Performance Objective 6: Students will be able to answer multiple choice and fill in questions,

answering a minimum of thirty questions correctly out of a total of forty test questions.

Resources or Materials Needed: twelve test packets, pencils, whiteboard

Time: 80 minutes

Step 1: Pre-Instructional Activities: (5 minutes)

• Have “hype” music playing while students are walking into the classroom.

• Write a message on the whiteboard that says, “You’ve got this!”

Step 2: Content Presentation: (5 minutes)

• Pass out the test packet (Appendix H) to each student, make sure all students have a

pencil and instruct them to read the directions and begin when they are ready.

o Instruct students that have questions to approach the teacher’s desk.

o The test packet is created by the teacher on Microsoft Word. It is a selection of

exact multiple choice and fill in questions from the textbook (Houghton Mifflin

Harcourt 2019).

Step 3: Learner Participation: (60 minutes)

• Students will answer the multiple choice and fill in questions to the best of their abilities.

Step 4: Assessment: (60 minutes)

• Forty multiple choice questions

• Learner Participation and Assessment are to happen at the same time.

Step 5: Follow-Through Activities: (10 minutes)

• Give each student one final raffle ticket when they submit their test.
• Once each student has turned in their test, begin to draw raffle tickets. Winners may

choose a prize from the prize box.

• Students may have free time with any extra time left in the class period.

Lesson Plan Summary: The main learning theory in this lesson plan is Behaviorism. Students

are expected to provide the correct answers that they have memorized by studying. It is also

Behaviorism because students are able to earn more tickets through the completion of the test

and in participating in the ticket raffle once the test is completed (Khalil & Elkhider 2016).
