B. TONGUE (LINGUAL PAPILLAE)
Fungiform:
• Scattered and isolated
• WITH TASTE BUDS
• Mushroom shaped between filiform
papillae
• Has vascular L.P.
• L.E.: Simple Stratified NON-
keratinizing epithelium

B. TONGUE (LINGUAL PAPILLAE)
Circumvallate( vallate ):
• Least in number, 8- 12 forming a V-
line anterior to sulcus terminalis,
largest in size; surrounded by a
furrow.
• WITH TASTE BUDS
• Closely associated with Von Ebner’s
Glands
• L.E.: Simple Stratified NON-
keratinizing epithelium
