PROFILE

I am a dedicated and professional engineer with experience in the Oil, Gas and Aerospace industry as well as
across a range of other sectors. My strong academic background has enabled me to excel in the field of
engineering and finite element analysis for the design and verification of equipment as per Asme and other
international specifications. Also Have experience of being in different aerospace industries all over Europe
namely Germany, France, England and Sweden. I have worked with highly skilled people from all over the
world and can easily work in a team. As an Aerospace engineer i have detailed understanding of CFD as well.
I am currently working as a Pressure Vessel / Heat exchanger design engineer and also conducting finite
element analysis on them using Ansys. For conventional design I have experience in using Compress and Pv
elite.

CORE ACHIEVEMENTS

• Use of software such as Pv elite and Compress to design pressure vessels/heat exchangers.
• Sabic RT4 where I carried out detailed fatigue analysis of product discharge tank using FEA .
• Lifting lug analysis using finite element analysis for vessel for Worley parson.
• FEA Hotbox analysis for a reactor for Technip itally using coupled field structural /thermal analysis
using Ansys.
• Piping / nozzle analysis for different jobs including FEA.
• Consultancy for different local vendors for Finite element analysis for oil and gas industry.
• Fitness of Service assessment using FEA as per API standards.
• A complete working model of 2D satellite attitude control was built. The project involved the design of
cold jet thrusters and structure of the model satellite. I achieved the design of the controller on Matlab.
• In my thesis I developed a software tool to find optimum trajectories utilizing gravity assist
manoeuvres for spacecrafts/satellites. The tool was programmed on Matlab with complete graphical
user interface.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY & SKILLS

CAREER TO DATE

Static Design Engineer/Fea Analyst (Olayan Descon),KSA: Feb 2009 to date

Olayan Descon is a general oil and gas contractor, engaging in engineering, design and construction of
various types of industrial equipment for customers and major EPC companies like Technip Italy, Aramco,
Hyaundai, Cheveron etc in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
• Designing pressure vessels and heat exchangers as per specifications and RFQ.
• Checking detailed fabrication drawings.
• Carrying out finite element analysis and making detailed reports as per code and specifications.
• Local Load Analysis and Fitness for service analysis using: ANSYS, Nozzle Pro and FE Pipe
• Complex fatigue analysis using Ansys as per ASME Div 2 requirements. Which is must for industry
acceptance.
• Technical support to costing and marketing department for optimum cost effective solutions
• Attending technical meeting with client and contractors
• Conversant in Pressure Parts design calculations as per : ASME Sec VIII. Div. 1 & Div.2, EN13445,
TEMA, ASME SEC II Part A, B& D in accordance with specifications of Aramco, Sabic, Technip,
Cheveron, Exon Mobil.
• Designing supports and structure of industrial equipments.

Trainee Engineer (Aedesign),PK: Jul to Sep 2008

Aedesign is a premier engineering design and consultancy company in Pakistan.

I worked as part of the engineering team in a target driven environment. This meant I had to meet internal
deadlines, conduct FEM analysis for stress using Ansys on the models made in ProEngineering.
Responsibilities:
• Carrying out finite element analysis for composite materials.
• Manual calculations for sandwich type composite structures.
• Carrying out market surveys for available parts.
• Checking, formatting and editing of technical documentation.
