Listening Section.

In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand
spoken English. There are 4 parts to this section, with special directions for each part.
Part I. Pictures
Question : 1 to 3.
Directions:
For each item, there is a picture and four short statements about it on the tape. They are
spoken two times, and are NOT WRITTEN out on your test book, so you must listen
carefully. You must choose one sentence – (A), (B), (C), or (D)- that best describe the
picture. Then, on your answer sheet, mark your choice.

The Basic Operation of a Digital Camera


Follow these steps to take picture:
1. Hold up the camera and center the object in the LCD
2. Move closer or use the zoom control for the result you want.
3. When you are ready to take the picture, hold the shutter halfway. It is very important, so the
camera sets the focus, shutter speed, and various other calculations. This may take few
seconds.
4. A light should appear that lets you know the camera is set to go.
5. Press shutter half way down.
It may be necessary to turn off the LCD and use the view finder when there is extreme sunlight
or to conserve battery life. The glare from the LCD does not work well with bright light.

ESSAY
Read the following instruction.
Nowadays cooking is no longer a complicated things. Especially when it comes to cooking rice, there
is an electronic device designed specially for this. We know this device as Rice Cooker, Magic Jar or
Magic Com. The following steps will show you how to operate a Rice Cooker properly.
1. Wash the cooking pot and make sure the inner side is clean.
2. Measure the rice by using the measurement cup and put the rice into the cooking pot. Make sure
to give space for the rice, water and the expansion.
3. Rinse the rice so that we can remove the pesticides that may be present.
4. Add some water into the cooking pot, usually we need to see the water is 1cm above the rice
surface.
5. Soak the rice for about 30 minnutes in order to make the cooked rice stickier.
6. Put the cooking pot along with the rice and water into the Rice Cooker.
7. Close the Rice Cooker lid and then plug the cable into the electricity socket.

Kancil and Crocodile

Kancil was a clever mousedeer. He had many enemies. One of them was Crocodile. Crocodile
lived in a river in the forest.
Now, one day, Kancil went to the river. It was a very hot day, and he wanted to have a bath.
Kancil bathed and splashed about in the water.
Crocodile saw Kancil. "A nice meal," he thought. Then, he crawled behind Kancil and grabbed
him. He caught one of Kancil's legs.
Kancil was terrified. Then, he had an idea. He saw a twig floating near him. He picked it up
and said, "You stupid fool! So you think you've got me. You're biting a twig - not my leg. Here, this is
my leg."
And with that, he showed Crocodile the twig. Crocodile could not see well. He was a very
stupid creature, too. He believed the cunning mousedeer. He freed the mousedeer's leg and snapped
upon the twig. Kancil ran out of the water immediately.
"Ha! Ha!" he laughed. "I tricked you!".
