Teacher Liz

July 2019

Zacharia, it was lovely to see you so focussed on the goal you set
yourself, of threading the string. You were determined and fo-
cussed. You stood between me & Helen as you worked on it and
then asked us for help as you needed. I showed you how to hold
the elastic so that you could push the bead on the end then pull
it through. It was a challenge and you included a teacher to help
you to hold it and then you were able to pull the thread through.
You attempted to thread the beads on your and I’m sure with a
little practice you could have, but you were enjoying working
together with a teacher.
Zacharia, I saw you setting goals and persisting to achieve the
goal. I saw you problem solve, by including a teacher to help
you. I saw you enjoying working together with a teacher. And I
saw you take pride in your achievement.
You practiced your pincer grip and you learned the difference
between push and pull.
I saw you experiencing and learning how to build relationships
and learning what team work looks like. I know that you can
transfer these skills to working with other children too.
The relationship you create will increase your sense of belonging
at An-Nur, which is your learning goal.
Zacharia, lets revisit this experience together, you will build &
concrete the knowledge and skills you have from threading
beads today.
Well done Zacharia, your mahi has paid off and you were
pleased with your own achievement.
