INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN OF PROPOSED CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) PROGRAM

I. Course/Program Title: Seminar-Workshop on Action Research Writing

II. Course/Program Brief description: In support of the Department of Education policy development, process, research
agenda, and policy and program development and implementation, Motiong National High School shall conduct a three-
day seminar workshop on Action Research Writing to the Junior and Senior High School teachers.
In line with R.A 9155, the Department of Education has to enable policies and
mechanisms from which the delivery of quality basic education can be continuously improved. As stated in Chapter 1,
section 7 (5) of R.A 9155 that DepEd is mandated to undertake educational research and studies from which it can
become part of the basis for necessary reforms and policy inputs.
In support of this, the Department of Education issued Department Order No. 13,
s.2015 which established a systematic policy development process in the department. The said order explicitly promotes
evidence-based formulation that can be supported by research which can be initiated internally or by qualified external
research institutions. The intent of the said policy can be best achieved when supported by a clear mechanism in
conducting action research.
In view of this, Motiong National High School will hold a three (3) day seminar
workshop on this matter in order to equip the teachers with the basic know-how on action research making so that they
can be partners of the Department in promoting evidence-based policy development and decision making.
