*Some sexual assault cases are resolved by a plea or finding of guilt to another, related charge (i.e. A defendant
charged with F2 sexual assault and F1 Aggravated Kidnapping may be convicted of the Agg Kidnapping because it
carries a higher punishment range). 2011 - 2015 data pending.

Cases may not be received, indicted and/or resolved in the same year.

2017 was adversely impacted by the closure of the APD DNA lab in late 2016. Many sexual assault cases needed to
be sent out for retesting by another lab. This resulted in a lower number of trials in 2017.

The trial data for 2018 and 2019 YTD shows that the DA's Office is now taking the highest percentage of sexual
assault cases to trial each year compared to the trial record of the last decade.
