Note: Supplier Information Relationships in SAP Ariba Procurement are dependent on your ERP
system configuration. Supplier Information Relationship involve the supplier organization, the
common supplier, the supplier id, supplier locations and remittance locations.
Terms
▪ Common Supplier – also known as Supplier Organization - Matching Supplier record found
in both SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing solutions and SAP Ariba Procurement Solutions
▪ Supplier Locations – A physical location for a company. May have different contacts for the
same supplier location. More than one supplier location can be mapped to a single supplier.
Supplier organizations and suppliers are identified by one or more suppliers IDs, which
consist of a domain and value pair.
Domain Description
duns An ID that uses Dun and Bradstreet’s D-U-N-S naming system
networkID Ariba Network ID (ANID) (SAP Ariba Procurement solutions use this ID when contacting the Ariba
Network).
privateid Matches the supplier id used in the ERP system
transactionnetworkid Used in Suite Integrated environments, indicates the supplier organizations Ariba Network ID used in
SAP Ariba Procurement Solutions
sourcingnetworkid Used in Suite Integrated environments, indicates the Ariba Network ID used in SAP Ariba Strategic
Sourcing
internalsupplierid An internal supplier id
buyersystemid SAP Ariba Procurement solutions generates a default supplier id. Cannot be modified or deleted.
vendorid Vendorid is the id of the supplier site as it is stored in the ERP system.

Suite Integrated Ariba Network ID
▪ Supplier locations associated with the same supplier (common supplier) in SAP Ariba
Procurement solutions can have the same Ariba Network Id.
▪ Some supplier have multiple Ariba Network accounts (for subsidiary or location). If suppliers
punch in to your site from the Ariba network, the ANID is updated automatically based on the
punch in credentials if the supplier location is not already set.
▪ Supplier locations associated with different suppliers cannot have the same ANID.
▪ Ariba Network Private ID is generated automatically for each supplier location to allow buyers to
set up trading relationships with suppliers on Ariba Network.
▪ Private IDs are configurable; most use the id in the ERP system
▪ For supplier organizations that have a networked ins SAP Ariba Procurement or SAP Ariba
Strategic Sourcing Solutions, Ariba Network is the source for all organization data that resides in
the supplier’s Ariba Network account profile.
▪ SourcingNetworkID – Used for sending Ariba Network ID information to SAP Ariba
Procurement solutions. Each supplier organization with an Ariba Network ID also has an
organization ID using the sourcingnetworkid domain.
▪ TransactionNewtorkID – Used for sending Ariba Network ID information to SAP Ariba Strategic
Sourcing solutions. Each supplier organization with an Ariba Network ID also has an
organization id using the transactionnetworkid domain.
▪ Supplier organization data is synchronized and exchanged between SAP Ariba solutions in suite
integrated environments.
▪ These are generated automatically and are not editable. If you delete the networkid in SAP
Ariba Procurement solutions, the corresponding transactionnetworkid is deleted automatically.
▪ VendorID is the same as the unique supplier ID or supplier private ID on Ariba Network
▪ Is included in the vendor compound key which is the ID of the supplier stored in the ERP system
along with two optional keys that include supplier site data. The values correspond to specific
calues in the supplier record on SAP Ariba Procurement Solutions.

When the ERP serves as the vendor master, Supplier ID Normalization impacts the integration with
either SAP ERP, Oracle, PeopleSoft.
Please see Supplier ID Normalization Guide for Ariba Network to determine the Integration
necessary with your ERP.
SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration is an extension of Ariba Network that enhances the ability of
suppliers to collaborate with buyers for direct material supply-chain transactions such as ordering,
invoicing, and shipping.
Because this extension is between SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration and Ariba Network, there
is not a direct impact to supplier in a Suite Integrated environment.
Scenario
Bob’s Bakery (ID:ACM123) was added as a Common Supplier in SAP Ariba Sourcing to participate
in a Sourcing Event. Bob’s Bakery was awarded the event and subsequently signed a contract in
SAP Ariba Contracts with the Buyer. Now the Buyer wants use SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing for
Contract Compliance and invoicing.

Scenario Outcome
• During the automated load from the ERP to SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing, the Partitioned
Supplier is created and automatically creates a Common Supplier record with the matching ID.
• There is now a link to the Common Supplier record in SAP Ariba Sourcing.
