technology changed the way of teaching of the teacher and how does the
learning process of the students change effectively through the use of
technology. The existence of technology in the past was through non-digital
technology, the current digital technology has been a factor that shrunk the
world and made it flat. It provides new environment for learning, new ways on
how do teachers teaches effectively and new ways on how learners learn.
On ICT Competency Standards for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher
Education, helps us to identify the competency standards of ICT necessary in
teaching for pre-service teacher education and helps us to familiarize with the
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers. In this lesson
talks about competency standards that they set and that we need to achieve
in order to achieve our educational goals, to be an effective teacher and a
productive students/learners in our school and in the community especially
when it teaching and learning was accompanied by technology. And also it
helps us to know what laws given by the government that dictates on what we
should do or on how should we act on a certain situation.
In Understanding the Basic Concepts in ICT helps us to define
conceptually or operationally terms that are basic to the understanding of ICT
and how to use the concepts and terms in communicating with peers for
further understanding. At the end of the lesson we are able to identify the
terms that are related to technology for teaching and learning and those terms
includes: the definition of technology which is a mix process and product used
in the application of knowledge, Information and Communication Technology
Literacy (ICT Literacy) it is using digital technology to function in a knowledge
society, Educational Technology, Digital Literacy, Digital Learning, On-line
Digital Tools and apps, Offline digital tools and apps, instructional technology,
software, multimedia, internet, world wide web (www), web access, webquest,
productivity tools, technology tool, blog, wiki, flipped classroom, podcast,
google apps, vlog, facebook, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and many
more, it it necessary for us to know the definition and on how to use those
terms because sooner or later we may encounter those terms in our journey in
learning and discovering new things.
Roles of Technology for Teaching and Learning help us to identify the
roles of technology in teaching and learning and helps us to appreciate the
value of technology in supporting student learning. Learners nowadays are so
eager to learn with the use of technologyespecially the technology helps us to
learn more and easily through technology we can now gather information
easily and time efficient, learning nowadays can be consider as an enjoyment
and interactive one and not a boring one. Teachers in this present times are
now capable to adopt the change that happens in teaching and learning
process in school through technology the job of the teachers becomes easy
and lessen the time in doing such thing especially in computing the grades of
every students. In this lesson technology was define in various educational
technology; technology as a tutor, as a teaching tool and as a learning tool.

Reflection (Module 2)
ICT Policies and Issues: Implications to Teaching and Learning
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has a great impact on the
changes or growth that happens nowadays, especially in teaching and
learning aspects. The usage of ICT has its limitation for us to be able not to
depend to ICT on what we do, our decision, on even how we live in our daily
life. In discussing some ICT policies and explain their implications to teaching
and learning helps us to be knowledgeable on how to use ICT and when to
use ICT. ICT has a great part in globalization especially in marketing products
or even in communicating your business partner from different country.
Policies and Issues on Internet and Implications to Teaching and Learning
helps us to distinguish examples of ICT policies which are applicable to
teaching and learning to those which is not applicable and discuss some
issues that relate to the ICT policy. Nowadays we lived in the world that is full
of technology wherever we go or whatever we do it involves technology, even
you are talking to the phone, sending an electronic mail, going to the bank,
using the library, watching news on television, going to the doctor, catching a
flight, or seeing a movie, you are using ICT. In this lesson we are guided on
how to use the ICT properly.
Safety Issues in the Use of ICT including e-Safety Rules, helps us to identify
and explain safety issues on the use of ICT and list down and apply e-safety
in the use of ICT. Using technology is not a risk if we know our limitation, if we
know how to use it properly and its rules. In this section it provides all the
possible risk that we may encounter when using the ICT and e-Networking.
Despite of so many benefits for teaching and learning, there are also negative
effects or influence on the learners. Safeguard and protection should be the
primordial role of parents, teachers and schools. There are so many risks that
we have to be aware of in the use of digital technologies. E-safety takes care
not only of internet technologies but also of electronic communication via
mobile phones, games consoles and wireless technology. it highlights the
need to educate children and young people about the benefits, risks and
responsibilities of using information technology.
As future educators it is our responsibility to be a role model to the young
ones today and to our students soon when we are in teaching, the way they
use the ICT must be guided by us. ICT is very useful in the process of
teaching and learning but we must also consider all the possible harm or risk
that may happen to use if we over use the ICT or if we didn’t use it in a right
way. We must also consider the fact that using ICT can make us lazy
sometimes we tend to do things by using ICT even if it is not needed to use
ICT to it. We must always put in mind that “When you are surfing the web, you
may think you are anonymous, but there are various ways that information
about you or your activities can be collected without your consent”.

Reflection (Module 3)
Non-digital and Digital Skills and Tools in Delivering Technology-
Enhanced Lessons
In this lesson we learned about examples of Instructional Materials that are used by teachers in
teaching, about how does each instructional materials can help the students to learn about what does
the teacher wanted to imply/to say and its essense on helping the students on coping up with the lesson
easily. Using creative instructional materials is necessary especially when you are teaching in primary
school because it cathces the attention of the learners when they see that your instructional materials
was colorful and fun to watch.

We also discusssed the use of ICT tools for teaching and learning, how to use it properly, when to use
ICT tools for teaching and learning and the different kinds of ICT tools that can be used in teaching and
learning. We also include in our discussion all those infographics that can be an aid in learning and
teaching at school in presenting some sort of information or repiort.

One of the best example for keeping the work of every student is through portfolio and by the use or by
the help of technology, we can now make an e-portfolio using your gmail account that helps you keep
your records in such school work and activities that can help you to be able to compare and monitor if
there is a progress in your grade or in your school performance. There are lots of technological tools that
can helps us work collaboratively even if we are far from each other.

MODULE 4 FLEXIBLE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

People nowadays, uses social media as for enjoyment or for their leisure time but did you know that
through social media we can also learn something. Social media is also a source of information or
knowledge that we may acquire or learn.

MODULE 5 THEORIES AND PRINCIPLES IN THE USE AND DESIGN OF TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN LESSONS
We also include in our discussion the techniques on effective way of teaching the learners, on how does
the learners acquire knowledge and information and does the teacher teaches his/her students
effectively.

MODULE 7 SOCIAL, ETHICAL AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY TOOLS AND
RESOURCES

and how does they differ from each other. In addition, we also discussed the legal rights of every
authors or holders if someone uses their work or reproducing some sort of copies of it can be filed a

All those lessons that we’ve discussed helps us build to be an effective teacher someday and it lso
strenghthen our knowledge about what was the real job or being a teacher, what was the life of every
teacher and what was the effective way/process on teaching and learning. It also encourages us to differ
