INTRODUCTION

The On-The-Job Trainings’ goal is to expose the students in a field of job that is related to their
courses. For me, On-The-Job Training is one of the most useful things the school could offer us. It
let us experience the feeling of being in a real job like working on time, meeting your boss’
expectations, submitting the best output on it’s deadline, giving satisfaction to the consumers and
most of all,

On the job training is one way by which we students are given an opportunity to apply the
theories and knowledge that we have learned from school. It also helps us to obtain applicable
knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges require their students to
undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum. For us
students, an OJT program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a
specific job using our own laptop and other things used in the work place. In effect, the work
place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field
and practice what we have learn from the academy.

On the other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept
trainees. First OJT or intern provides extra manpower for a less significant labor cost than a
regular employee. Most of them are all eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they’ll be
given a chance to work on the same company as an employee after graduating. Employers can
use this internship strategy as method in recruiting employees. Since the trainer or supervisor
can follow the trainees’ progress, he can gauge based on performance, behavior and attitude if
the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his internship.

We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to converse
our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in brainstorming
sessions or research and eventually help improve the organizations productivity. While training
the interns, employers are in fact also teach their employees to guide the trainees by stretching
their patience, develop teaching skills and make more sensitive to the needs and mind set of the
younger generation. The course of supervision also teaches them how to share what they know
and be receptive to questions. Hence, the internship also becomes an avenue in training for
future managers of the company.

project.

On the 2nd week, I submitted the proposed project to the Architects for approval.

ground floor I assigned to do so. It took me about a week to finish the well said project.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

This On-The-Job Training made me believe that experience is best teacher in life. It gave me
a great opportunity to test my capabilities and to break through my limits. I can say that this is one
of the best experiences I have during my school years. It taught me to be competitive towards work
and to be initiative to do things not just because I have to but because I feel like doing it with
passion.

On the Job Training – approximately, a complete experience. As an “on the job trainee”,
Provincial Planning and Development Office and had thought me a lot of knowledge regarding
my course, lots of knowledge that are noteworthy that will be able to surely help me in the field of
work that I have chosen and that I will be working in the future. Although there may be times that
the work given to OJT’s are very hard and unsuitable, still it brought a big challenge and turned
out to be a lesson. First hand experiences during the OJT had also a great contribution for a
personal progress of OJT’s especially in me, such as being assigned in various processes of the
company where I cannot only apply the information I have in mind but as well as the skills I have
learned in school and in my previous OJT. For I believe that doing the work first hand and applying
skills is where I can learn well and where I can have the best time of learning. Thus, the training
could have been more of an “experience” if I had to experience more processes, I think that it would
be more complete for it to be a total-packaged training where trainees could’ve learned more and
be inspired to work efficiently.

PROBLEMS MET

On the first day of our internship at PPDO we encountered a hard day due to
limited knowledge about the project that we are working on and also our laptop
has some difficulties.

Emman’s laptop is only Celeron and the processor of my laptop is low and
it’s hard to open Sketch up and Auto Cad at the same time, and there is only one
port that is working. So I had a hard time doing the tasks that had been given to us.
I had such problem because sometimes my laptop becomes too logy and I can’t
work well. It takes too much time for me to work because of this.

Alec also had problems on his laptop too, because the left part holder of the
LCD of his laptop is not holding the LCD. And also the usb port was loosed and its
hard for the mouse to function well, the battery of the laptop was sometimes
malfunctioning, sometimes full sometimes not so he can’t work with no electricity
available or without a charger.
