FACTS OF THE CASE:

On or about 19 1730H June 2019, Brgy. Coun. Delfin Magdaong relayed

information to this station regarding a vehicular accident transpired at Brgy. Kimantong,
Daraga, Albay involving a public utility jeepney, tricycle, and motorcycle. Upon receipt of
information, C, Operation, SFO3 Joseph M Martinez ordered the dispatch of BFP
personnel. Immediately, Engine 2 Anos Firetruck driven by FO1 Kris Jerico Halili together
with FO2 Felam Jacob, FO2 Jude Brocka, and FO2 Theodore James Alzaga proceeded
to the said location. SFO3 Joseph M Martinez and SFO1 Ronald Moral also arrived at the
scene. Upon arrival, SFO3 Joseph M Martinez visually sized-up the situation to ensure
the safety of every responder. Albay Emergency Medical Services responding team was
also at the scene. He then was assisted by the Daraga FS Pers in giving the victims the
necessary first aid treatment, and they made certain that the victims were stabilized. The
victims were immediately transferred to the ambulance and transported to the nearest
hospital. Initial investigation conducted by the PNP Daraga investigator on case disclosed
that while the PUJ was heading to Daraga Poblacion, having been from the direction of
Sorsogon, it engaged in a mechanical failure (lost brake) upon reaching the downhill road
of Brgy. Kimantong. As a result, the PUJ accidentally hit the rear portion of the tricycle
and sideswiped the motorcycle. It finally rested after it smashed into a concrete fence.
Above-mentioned persons sustained injuries in different parts of their body and are now
undergoing medical treatment at BRTTH Daraga, Albay.
Responding BFP Daraga personnel with Albay EMS performed initial rescue-related
operations, extricated the entrapped victims, and provided medical care to those who
were injured. They also assisted in loading the victims for transport from the scene to
the hospital-BRTTH Daraga, Albay.
