Responsible for all Materials related activities at the Gulfstream Mexicali Plant. Logistics, Warehousing, Receiving, Put away,
Picking, Cycle Counting, (4 warehouses, 2 tool cribs, 45K SKU’s), Materials Control (Shipping, Receiving), Production
Control (Production Planning), Materials Planning (Materials Requirements Planning), Purchasing (MRO), Imp/Exp. Staff of 5
Managers and a total of 190 Materials employees. Plant consisting of 5 Strategic Business Units with different operations,
Avionics Electrical Harnesses, Electrical Panels for Communication Racks and Avionics, Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication
and Structural Assembly.
o Implemented a Self Billing process for high volume wire consumption in a VMI environment.
o Improved Inventory Accuracy from 75 to 98.8% and continuing to improve through introduction of cycle counting
process best practices and continuous improvement culture.

loadings, FG re-work), Material Control department of Manager and 4 planner/buyers, Raw material warehouse with 28 WH

Purchasing Manager May 2003 – Jan 2006


Responsible for the Negotiation, Contracting & Procurement of all of the Raw Materials, Production Supplies, Office supplies,
Packing Supplies, Facilities contractors, Employee Transportation, Janitorial Services, Scrap Handling, etc. with a total yearly
spend of 60M in 5 different focus factories in IR Mexico. Negotiations of multiyear contracts with raw material vendors in
Asia, Europe and the US regions. Copper commodities purchasing with pricing variation depending of metal (London Metal
Exchange copper) prices fluctuations, currency exchange fluctuations. Contract negotiations with service suppliers, scrap
recycling companies, transportation for employees, third party warehouses including cold storage, painting subcontractors for
machinery and building, construction companies, etc. IR Tijuana plant is the biggest assembly operation for International
Rectifier Corp., with a 24/7, 363 days a year schedule and 2,500 employees. Production volumes of discrete semiconductors
totaling 26 million pieces per week
o Supervision of 9 Buyers; 2 senior raw material buyers, 2 senior capital purchasing buyers, 2 MRO buyers, 1
production supplies buyer, one equipment spare part buyer and one supplier development senior engineer
o Responsible for CRP generation and reporting
o Responsible for PPV analysis, forecasting and improvement
o Coordinated Yearly cost reduction projects for Raw Materials, MRO Items and Services. Consistent $1+ Million in
yearly cost reduction last 2 years
o Negotiated with copper lead frames suppliers to buy copper futures in the LME market to control and reduce cost
o Implemented an electronic requisition and DOA system for automatic approval processing to streamline the
Purchasing department MRO buying process, ”e-Req”
o Functional owner and Manager for the e-Rec system in North America. Responsible for auditing system integrity.
o Implemented a system to forecast, quote and buy Manufacturing Equipment SPARE PARTS improving the
equipment down time by 15%
o Conducted Negotiation of contracts with suppliers in Europe, Asia and US. Visited suppliers for negotiations in
Japan, France, Taiwan, US, etc.
o Negotiated volumes and pricing improvements with 2nd tier suppliers to achieve desired cost reductions.
o Implemented a VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) system to reduce inventory levels, increase inventory turns and
ensure timely delivery of material to a changing forecast environment. For 60% of our volume materials, the VMI
program was implemented. Suppliers pay the storage and transportation of the material to a 3rd party warehouse in
Tijuana (2 blocks from the plant). We pay the suppliers as we pull the material from this warehouse. Supplier is
responsible to replenish inventory levels on the VMI warehouse based on our 13 week rolling forecast. Requirement
to have at leas 3 to 4 weeks of inventory at said location
o Conducted the transfer of several product lines from other IR location to our plant IRMX (Substrates Printing Line
from Krefeld Germany, Hi Rel Line from Leominster Massachusetts, TO-247 Line from Oxted Surrey UK). I was the
lead in those teams for the procurement aspect of the transfers.
o Responsible for sourcing of suppliers for new product line DirectFet, a mid volume, high tech, IR proprietary product
line
o Responsible for sourcing of new vendors transferred and existing lines in Asia and Mexico
o Lead of the procurement team for the sale of distilled product lines to Vishay. Product lines including all the
equipment, processes, procedures, suppliers, etc., were transferred to Xian China
o Lead the project team for the implementation of procedures and controls for SOX compliance (The Sarbanes-Oxley
Act of 2002) in the procurement department

Production Manager March 2002 – May 2003


Responsible for 12 production lines of discrete semiconductor assembly. Back End process consisting of 7 operations
(transfer molding, curing, trimming, plating, de-flashing, reflow oven, singulation). Line running 24/7 with 350 operators and
volumes of 14 million per week
o Implementation of the 5S principles in the production lines.
o Design, coordination and implementation of work groups to improve Quality, Productivity and house keeping on the
production lines
o Improved the operator productivity by 15% by elimination of non value added activities in the molding operation
