LECTURE ONE
LESSON ONE
INTRODUCTION
When an individual receives Jesus and is born again of the Spirit of God he
instantaneously becomes a new creation in Christ. His spirit man is reborn and
God comes and dwells in that person’ spirit in the form of the Holy Spirit
(Ezekiel 36:26-27, 2Cor 6:16). From that moment forth that person becomes a
Christian.

However, that is not where it ends. The person now needs to learn more about
his birth rights and begin to live in that realm. This is more so because to
remain in the natural realm is to sentence oneself to a life of perpetual defeat,
misery and limitations in the hands of the enemy.

Assuredly, for a victorious Christian lifestyle, there are things to know

(Ephesians 1:15-18).
For one, it is pertinent to say here that Christianity is not an escape route to
heaven, but a call to relevant living on the earth.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
 NEW- this is an adjective used to describe a noun that has never existed
nor been seen nor heard of, but introduced for the first time.
 CREATION- this means bringing into being or existence something that
has never been (Genesis 1:1).
 FUNDAMENTALS- this is from the word “fundamental” which refers to
foundation; that which is of great importance; that which serves as a
staring point.
February, 2011 Page 5
 NEW CREATION FUNDAMENTALS -therefore is concerned with
those things which form the foundation of the new creation; which things
must be learnt first because they are of great importance. These consist of
the facts, truths and details of the new birth.
This course is designed to establish the reality of the new birth in its spiritual
concept, and how it positions the saved, and also to communicate to the
believer the virtues of salvation.

LESSON TWO
WHY NEW BIRTH?
Jesus said emphatically in John 3:7 “…ye must be born again.”
This presupposes the fact that the new birth is a necessity for man, without
which
he cannot have access into the kingdom of God.
Why? What happened?

MAN BEFORE THE FALL

1. Man was created with the life of God in him. He was created in the image
and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26a). Man was in God’ class.
2. Man was made triune (spirit, soul and body) as the Godhead or trinity (God
the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit).
3. Man was subject only to the law of life and superior to the law of death.
4. Man was in fellowship with God on a daily basis (Genesis 3:8).
5. Man was highly spiritual (Genesis 2:25) and was more conscious of his
spiritual environment than the physical.
6. Man was master of the earth, superior to all of God’ creation and shared
God’ power by privilege of God (Genesis 1:28, Ps 8:3-4). Adam was someone
God could delegate His authority to, “…for the earth has He given to the sons
of men” (Ps 115:16).
7. Man was peaceful, confident and bold (Genesis 3:8-11). He would boldly
welcome God to a time of fellowship between God and him with no form of
fear whatsoever.
8. Man had access to the wisdom of God. Wherefore, the ways of God were
laid bare before him and he was able to walk in the reality of them.
February, 2011 Page 6
9. Man was a king and the earth was his domain. He reigned in it by the
wisdom of God deposited in him at creation

THE FALL OF MAN

“And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? And
he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked:
and I hid myself” (Genesis 3:9-10).

Man afraid? Man naked? What happened? Sin! (Genesis 3:1-6).

God had to ask His man, “Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten
of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? (Genesis
3:11).

That was it! Man had fallen! That was the beginning of man’s problems,
struggles, pains and sweat. God left man and the devil took him over. Genesis
3:16-19, 23-24

Adam turned his legal dominion into the hands of God’s enemy, the devil
(Luke 4:5-6). This was a thwarting of God’s plan. Man was now in complete
bondage to the devil, including all of God’ creation on the earth (Romans 8:20-
22).

MAN AFTER THE FALL

1. Man lost fellowship and legal standing with God (Genesis 3:8-11). This
was spiritual death.
2. The law of sin and death set in (Romans 8:2). This brought both spiritual
and physical death. Man became mortal, and doomed for death (Rom
5:12-13, Rom 6:23).
3. Man took on the nature of the devil. He became sin, not just a sinner (2
Thess 2:3).He suddenly became a hater of God, and rebellious towards
God (Ephesians 2:2).
4. Man lost his life and received hatred and revenge: he lost his faith and
received hesitating, halting, stumbling unbelief (Romans 11:32, John
12:37-40)
5. Man lost his rest, peace and joy (Isaiah 48:22).
6. Man became a servant to the devil, a slave to sin (Romans 6:6,12,16).

February, 2011 Page 7

7. Man became carnal. He fell from the spiritual to the physical. He went
into a spiritual vacuum.
His five senses now dominated the things of the Spirit – reducing his spiritual
perception to nothing (Rom 8:6-8, 1Cor 2:14).

LESSON THREE
THE EMERGENCE OF THE NEW MAN
At the fallen state, man was without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the World(Eph 2:12). At this state, man
was held captive in the World where Satan had the power of death;
wherefore man’ position was certainly desperate. Then, comes the unfolding
of the salvation plan of God.
SALVATION
“He sent his word, and healed them and delivered them from their
destructions” (Ps107:20)

“And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..” (John 1:14)

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for He
shall save His people from their sins” (Matt 1:21)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”
(Rom 10:9).

When a man accepts Jesus as his personal saviour and Lord according to
Rom 10:10, he is transformed into a new man with an entirely different kind
of life (2Cor 5:17). This is the new birth (Rom 6:6, Eph 4:24, Col 3:10)

February, 2011 Page 8

THE NEW MAN
1. The old nature of the devil characterized by corruption, depravity and
unregenerated spirit of man now gives way to the new nature of God and
man becomes the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2Cor 5:21, Isaiah
54:14)
2. All that man lost as a result of the fall is now restored unto him through
the death and victorious resurrection of Jesus.
3. Man is recreated in Christ Jesus (Eph 2:10, 2Cor 5:17)
4. Man is absolutely set free from the bondage of satan (Col 1:13,Col 2:12-
15).
5. Man is no longer in bondage to sin (Rom 6;6, 18, Rom 8:2).
LESSON FOUR
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT NEW BIRTH?
JESUS TOOK YOUR PLACE
You were the one that sinned. You were the one that was supposed to die (Rom
6:23). You were the one who was supposed to go to hell. It was your blood that
the devil wanted, because “without shedding of blood, is no remission of sin”
(Heb 9:22). But, Jesus took your place. He offered himself and sacrificed his
life for you to be free and life as if you never sinned. How He did it:

 He died in your place (Rom 5:8-9).

 He went to hell in your place (Ps16:10, Col 2:15)
 He shed His blood for you (Heb 9:12).

DEVELOPMENT OF THE SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM

a. Adamic time – it was one lamb one man (Gen 3:21).
b. Abrahamic time – it was one lamb to one man (Ge 22:13)
c. Mosaic time – it was one lamb to one family (Exo 12:3-14)
d. Levitical time – it was one lamb to one nation (Lev 16:15-16)
e. Messianic time – it was one lamb for the whole World (John 3:16-17),
John 1:29)

All these sacrifices involved blood (Heb 9:22). However, none of the previous
forms of sacrifice had a lasting result. Man was always going back to sin. The
problem was with his nature – the devil’s nature of sin.
February, 2011 Page 9
There was therefore need for a sacrifice that will deal with, uproot the sin
nature. It had to be the blood of a spotless lamb, the blood of a man that does
not have the sin nature. Finding no such man upon the earth, God had to make
His own sacrifice for us, once and for all (Heb 10:10, Gal 1:4, Heb 9:28).

YOU ARE REDEEMED

“…and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood…And has made us to unto our
God, a kingdom of priest, and we shall reign on the earth” (Rev 5:9-10). By
redemption:

1. You are set free from the devil’s slavery. Through the blood of Jesus Rom
6:16, 1Pet 1:18-19, Eph1:7
2. You are purchased or bought back from the slave market of sin; you are now
God’ property (Acts 20:28, Rev 5:9-10)
3. You are purchased out of the World system (Gal 3:13).

The Legal Aspect of Redemption

The legal aspect of redemption is what God did for us in Christ. It is in the past.
For example,
 He was delivered for us (Rom 4:25).
 He died for our sins (1Cor15:3-4)
 He was made sin for us (2Cor5:21)
 He gave himself for us (Titus 2:14).

All the “in Him, with Him and by whom” realities of our new birth constitute
the legal aspects of our redemption. In the way of justice, those issues are
eternally settled.

The Vital Aspect

This refers to what we really have now in Christ, that is, what the Holy Spirit is
doing in us today. When the vital aspect of redemption is understood, we know
what belongs to us in Christ. This opens us up to our Sonship rights, and then
we learn to take our place and enjoy our privileges. These are:
1. You are a new creature (2Cor5:17-18)
2. Because Christ lives, you live too (John14:19)
3. No more condemnation (2 Cor. 3:5-11)
4. You are seated in heavenly places with Christ (Jn 3:31, Eph 1:20-21, Col.3:1)
February, 2011 Page 10
5. You are free from sin and satan, to serve the living God (Rom 6:11-13).
6. You have access to the Father (Eph 2:18)
7. You becomes God’ habitation (Eph 2:22)

YOU ARE RECONCILED TO GOD

“And you, that were (once) alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked
work, yet now hath He reconciled” (Col 1:21).

By your new birth you are now reconciled or brought back to God (2Cor 5:5-
21, Eph2:6, Col1:20-22). God out of His love for you initiated that
reconciliation (Heb 8:12), and decided not to remember your sins anymore
(Heb 10:17). You are now accepted into God’s beloved for the following
reasons:

1. You are now the righteousness of God and have the capability to bring forth
fruit unto God in newness of spirit and not by your own righteousness
(Rom7:4-6, Isaiah 64:6).
2. You can now stand before God without any fear or guilt (Rom 8:1)
3. This righteousness is by faith (Gal 2:16, 2Cor 5:21)
4. Whatever Jesus is in the sight of God that is exactly what you are. Such that
when God looks at you, He sees Jesus (1John 4:17, Col 3:3).

YOU ARE JUSTIFIED

“And by Him all that believe are justified from all things...” Acts 13:39

Justification means standing before God, in Christ, as though you never sinned.
Consequently;

1. You now have peace with God (Rom 5:1)

2. God’ grace is now available to you for your own use (Rom 5:2, John 1:17).
3. You are no longer under condemnation (Rom 8:1). No one can lay a charge
against you (Rom 8:32-34).
4. You are glorified (Rom 8:30)

Therefore, beware of sin consciousness, which gives you a sense of

unworthiness and wretchedness before God. It keeps you feeling guilty for
those same sins which the blood of Jesus has cleansed you from already when
February, 2011 Page 11
you accepted Him. Even God does not remember, so you too must put them
behind (Isaiah 43:25).
To overcome sin consciousness, give yourself to the word of God (Col 3:16)

YOU ARE BAPTISED INTO CHRIST

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Gal
3:27).
This is what is called IDENTIFICATION. The equivalent Greek word is
BAPTIZO from which the word BAPTISM came. This means total immersion
of one into another, i.e. dipping one into another.

To be baptized into Christ means to be swallowed up in Christ, completely lost

in Him, so much so that nothing is seen of you anymore (Acts 17:28, Gal 2:20,
Col3:3, 1John 4:17, Phil 1:21).

It is this spiritual mystery that is re-enacted and demonstrated in the physical

act of water baptism.

Water Baptism
1. Water baptism is a must for any born again child of God. Jesus calls it the
fulfillment of all righteousness. So, in His coming to set example of God’ idea
of the perfect man, had to be baptized (Mt 3:13-17). So He commanded in Matt
28:19 “Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit”.
2. Water baptism is complete and total immersion, not by sprinkling. Jesus set
the example for us to follow.
3. Water baptism is not for babies or children. A sense of accountability and
responsibility is required to appreciate and appropriate the benefits of water
baptism.

The Benefits
1. A unique door of revelation opens (Lk 3:21).
2. An expansion of your understanding of God (Acts 8:26-38).
3. Your spiritual ears pop open and you begin to hear from heaven.
4. You begin to draw profiting from the scriptures.
5. You receive boldness that makes faith produce amazing results.

February, 2011 Page 12

As you come out of the water, it is your resurrection unto a new realm and way
of life. Old things are passed away, buried with the old you that you dropped
inside the water, just as Jesus went into the grave, into hell, to drop your sins.

This identification with Jesus is the secret of Christian life and victory.

LECTURE TWO
LESSON FIVE
UNDERSTANDING MAN’S MAKE-UP
“And God said let us make man in our own image and after our own
likeness…And God created man in His own image…” Gen.1:26, 27

Man was created in the image of God. It can however be said that man is God’s
copy. What God is, is what man must depict. God is:

1. TRIUNE IN NATURE
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the
Holy Spirit; and these three are one” (1Jn 5:7).

God is a triune being. The triune God made man in His own image. So man
must also be a TRIUNE BEING. This is confirmed in 1Thes. 5:23
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly…spirit, soul and body…”

2. A SPIRIT BEING
God is SPIRIT (Jn 4:24). Thus, man is essentially a SPIRIT BEING. And since
that which is born of the spirit is spirit (Jn 3:6) and every one that is born again
is born of God, so he is a spirit in the order of God his Father in heaven who
gave birth to him. (Jn 1:12-13).

February, 2011 Page 13

Now who is man?
MAN IS A SPIRIT, WHO POSSESSES A SOUL AND LIVES IN A BODY.

This constitutes the triune nature of man. These three parts are distinct in their
functions and qualities, yet are inter-related.

The Spirit of Man

The spirit of man is the real man. It is the part of him that contains God’s life –
the spiritual life (Gen 2:7).
 Without the spirit, neither the soul nor the body can function.
 The spirit expresses itself through the soul and the body.
 It is with the spirit that man connects and relates with God (1Cor 2:14).

The REGENERATED spirit is sometimes referred to as;

 The inward man (2Cor 4:16, Job 32:8).
 The hidden man of the heart (1Pet 3:4).
 The new man (Eph 4:24, Col 3:10)

THE QUALITIES OF THE SPIRIT MAN

The clothing beauty and character of the spirit man is found in Gal 5:22. They
are;
 Love (Rom 5:5, 1Cor 13:13).
 Joy (Neh 8:10, Isaiah 12:3).
 Peace (Jn 14:27, Phil 4:7, Jn 16:33).
 Long suffering (Gal 6:9, 2Tim 2:3)
 Gentleness (Matt 10:16).
 Goodness (Ps 33:5, Ps23:6).
 Faith (Rom12:3, Heb 11:6, Hab 2:4)
 Meekness (1Tim 6:11, Ps 22:26, Titus 3:2)
 Temperance (Prov 25:28).

THE SOUL
The soul is comprised of the MIND, the EMOTIONS and the WILL.

The Mind

February, 2011 Page 14

The mind is the intellect of man. The mind of man is the central control valve
of the human being. The spirit cannot relate with the body without an approval
from the mind nor can the body relate with the spirit without an approval from
the mind.

The Emotions
This is the realm of feelings – anger, fear, bitterness, joy, etc

The Will
God has given man a will by which he has the absolute prerogative to make
choices (Deut 30:19).

THE BODY
The body of man is the dwelling place for both his spirit and his soul. It is also
referred to as the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor 3:16, 1Cor 6:19).
The body is the material part of man with which he relates with the physical
world around him. This he does via the FIVE SENSES of;

 Sight(eyes)
 Smell (nose)
 Touch (hands)
 Taste (Tongue)
 Hearing (ears)

When the body dies, it returns to dust where it was taken from (Gen 3:19), to
be changed to immortality at rapture (1Thess 4:16-17).

February, 2011 Page 15

LESSON SIX
MAXIMISING THE SPIRIT
You can make the most of God’s deposits in your spirit, soul and body. As you
maximize your spirit, you are able to exercise more power in the spirit realm,
thereby making great impact on the earth.
Also, as you make more use of your mind, you are able to produce more and
better results.
The same goes for the exercise of the five senses.
In summary, it is to the extent to which you maximize your resources that your
impact will follow commensurately.
HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR SPIRIT MAN
You can make your spirit highly productive by observing the following
practices;
 Study (2 Tim 2:15, 1Tim 4:13)
 Meditation – this is mental processing of ideas – (Josh1:8, Ps1:3, 1Tim
4:15)
 Praying / singing in the spirit (Jude 20)

February, 2011 Page 16

 Praise and Worship (Ps 67)
 Fasting – to subdue the flesh – (Isaiah 58, Isaiah 40:31)
 Walking in love (1Cor 13)
 Sharing the Word and Testimonies (Prov11:25)
 Keeping quality company (Prov 13:20)
 Exercising the spirit to witty (wisdom) inventions – writing, singing etc
(2Tim1:6)
 Quality relationship with God (Daniel 11:32).

MAXIMIZING THE MIND

Salvation is instant, but conquest of the mind is progressive. Be informed that
the conquest of the mind is the key to receiving revelations from the Word
through the spirit as the mind is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Be aware that revelation is simply a transfer of knowledge from the spirit

to the mind.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE MIND

 Before new birth, your mind had been programmed and fed by the things
of the World through culture, education, traditions, peer groups,
environment etc.
 Now that you are a new creature, your mind needs to be renewed,
reprogrammed and fed with spiritual, heavenly, yea, kingdom of God
stuff.
 As a believer in Christ, you now have the mind of Christ, but you need to
stir it up to productivity to overcome the former mind.

HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE MIND

 Get into the Word of God. The Word of God provides the new World to
which you now belong (John 1:1, 4, 9).
 Enrich your mind with quality information about other people who have
maximized their minds and have something to show for it (Heb 6: 12).
 Walk with people who challenge, motivate and stir you up (Prov 13: 20,
Prov 27:17)
 Be spiritually minded (Col 3:1-2, Rom 8:5-6)
February, 2011 Page 17
 Think! Think!! Think!!! Exercise your mind (Ps119:99, 1Tim4:15)

MAXIMISING YOUR SENSES

A man, especially a believer in Christ, can re-educate his senses to appreciate,
adopt and adapt to kingdom demands, standards and tastes.
You can discipline;
 Your ears (Mk 4:24, John 8:47a, James 1:19)
 Your eyes (Prov 4:25, Matt 6:22)
 Your hands (Prov 12:24, Eccl 9:10)
 Your tongue (Prov 4:24, Prov18:21, Prov24:13)
 Your nose (Deut 4:28, Ps115:6)

LESSON SEVEN
THE NATURAL MAN / THE SPIRITUAL MAN
THE NATURAL MAN – Its Qualities and Dispositions
By nature the natural man is;
 A child of wrath (Eph 2:3)
 Spiritually dead (Rom 8:6)
 Without God i.e. Godless (Eph 2:11-13)
 Without hope i.e. hopeless (Eph 2:11-13)
 Dead in trespasses (Eph 2:1-7)
 Separated from Christ (Eph 2:12)
 A member of the family of satan (Eph 2:2-3, John 8:44)
 Under condemnation (Rom 8:1)
 Not permitted to approach God (E PH 2:13-14).
This is who you were before meeting with and submitting to Christ’s Lordship.
Good news! Now that you are born again, you have changed nature from the
natural to the spiritual.
THE SPIRITUAL MAN – Its Qualities and Dispositions
 A child of love (1John 4:7-8)
February, 2011 Page 18
 Spiritually alive unto God (Rom 8:6,10)
 Full of hope of a glorious future (Col 1:25-29)
 Dead to sin, alive to righteousness (Rom 8:10)
 One with Christ (Rom 8:8-9, Gal 3:26-29)
 A member of the family of God (Eph 2:19)
 Justified and destined for heaven (1Thess 4:16-18)
 Seated with Christ in God’ presence (Col 3:1-3, Eph 2:4-6)
 In God’ image and likeness (Gen 1:26-28, 2Cor 3:17-18)
 He is a god (Ps 82:6, John10:34, Acts 14:11)
 He is a spirit (John 4:24, John 3:6)
 Seated in the heavenly places (Eph 2: 5-6, Col 3:1-2)
 He is a king and priest (1Pet 2:9, Rev 5:9-10)
 He is a saviour and deliverer after the order of Christ (John14:12)
 An ambassador of Christ (2Cor5:20)
 He is God’ battle axe (Jer 51:20, Jer1:10).

LECTURE THREE
LESSON EIGHT
MANIFESTING YOUR SONSHIP
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12)

The believer’s sonship came with power. In other words, it takes power to
manifest our sonship in Christ. However, the question is “what purposes is the
power meant to serve?”

POWER FOR WHAT?

 To liberate the whole creation of God from the bondage of corruption
(Rom 8:19-22).
 To heal the sick (Mk 16:17, James 5:13-15, Matt 10:1)
 To raise the dead (Lk 7:1-15)
 To publish the reality of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8)
 To make impact in the lives of people (A8:5-8, Lk 4:36)
February, 2011 Page 19
 To communicate the mysteries of the kingdom (Acts 2:14-41, Rom
15:17-20, 1Cor 2:12-13, Lk4:22).
 To multiply yourself in others (Gen 1:28, Deut 30:16 “that thou mayest
live and multiply.
 To bring changes to people’ lives (Luke 2:340. Remember, as a believer,
you are for the rising of many(Isaiah 9:2, Luke 2:34)
 To attain your destiny in God (Jer 1:5, Jer 29:11, Col 4:17).

LESSON NINE
INSTRUMENTS OF YOUR MANIFESTATION
