Paid School Placements
You will be given school placements in primary schools for
the academic year ranging from 2 school days a week to 5
school days a week depending on your preference. You will

Pay Rates & Travel Contribution

After-school club (1hr) £8 - £8.30

Plus 10.76% holiday pay on-top

Travel Premium= 0.18 pence / mile (excluding 10 miles place of work travel)
Trinity College London Level 4 Certificate for Music
Educators
SuperStars will fund and deliver your tuition to gain your
Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators. This is a nationally
recognised qualification. Along with the experience gained

from your school placements, this qualification will give you
the credentials to progress your career whether you aspire
to get into teaching or are looking to progress into other

The qualification is gained through a mixture of up front
selected? initial training days, fortnightly /monthly tutorials and on
the job learning. The training days and tutorials are held at
SuperStars HQ or other local venues (for more info see the
Certificate for Music Educators Qualification brochure).

Child Safeguarding and First Aid Qualifications
SuperStars will fund and deliver your tuition to gain your industry

Letters of Commendation
Each term your Line Manager will review your performance and submit a
report to the MD who will write a letter of commendation for you; based

The Selection
Process
Step 1 – One Page Personal Statement
You complete the short personal statement and submit so that we know a bit about you before the
Telephone Interview.
Step 2 – Telephone Interview
The telephone interview forms a platform for us to find out more about you, and for you to find out
more about us. This allows us to assess whether you would be a good fit for SuperStars and
whether SuperStars would be a good fit for you. The Telephone Interview takes approximately 20
minutes.

The Selection Step 3 – Practical Assessment


If you successfully pass the Telephone Interview, you will be invited to attend a Practical
Assessment. During the Practical Assessment you will deliver a 30 minute Music session to a group
of pupils at one of our local partner schools. We do not expect you to be the complete finished

deliver a pre-planned session and we will give you support to ensure you are comfortable and
confident going into the Practical Assessment.
Step 4 – Selection Decision
We will contact you within 48 hours of your Practical Assessment to let you know if you have been
successful or not. If successful you will be formally offered a place and a job role. You will then be
booked onto the Induction process and booked in for your initial training.

Step 5– Begin programme


Your paid school placements and fortnightly/monthly tutorials will begin week commencing 2nd
September 2019. Prior to this you will attend a Welcome morning in July, Safeguarding Qualification
session, and two Theory and Practice days in July or August (Please see page 19 for dates and
times).
