The Plight of Dreamers need your support

A personal appeal to support Dreamers and the CMSC

Dear Friend,
Our time is running out. Irreversible damage is happening to
Dreamers like me all around the country. Throughout this
campaign, I’ve had the chance to listen to the stories of some of the
hundreds of Dreamers who applied for the Advance Parole
Assistance Program with the California-Mexico Studies Center.

And I want to share my experience with you. Unfortunately, the

experience is not pleasant, as I was listening to the life stories that
were being shared with me during interviews, I was also feeling the
frustration within me knowing that our organization didn’t have
enough funds to cover the costs of everyone’s application.

I listened as I heard someone share with me that their mother had

just passed away a couple of days ago in Mexico, I listened as a
young woman cried in frustration because she had to travel back to
Mexico due to her own terminal illness to be with a dying
grandfather, but didn’t have the $575 to gamble.

I was moved as many shared that they had to see their gravely ill
family members through a FaceTime call. I just listened and it feels
as if that’s all I could do knowing that the resources are limited.

Today I want you to know that they need your help, and we do too.

Our organization cannot continue offering assistance due to the

limited resources we have.

Our fundraising goal for this phase of our National Campaign to

Restore DACA’s Advance Parole is $50,000 to partially cover some
of the AP application fees, our staff assistance, and the November
9-15 Washington D.C., travel expense, at an average total cost of
$1,000 per DACA recipient for 50+ Dreamers to secure expedited
approval of their applications.

Please donate today and join us in restoring DACA's Advance

Parole.

Sincerely, Citlalli Ortiz

SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGN

Amazing application numbers show great

humanitarian need for Dreamers’ demand for
travel with Advance Parole
Given the large amount of applications for our Advance Parole Assistance
Program, the CMSC direly needs your support! Please donate to our Advance
Parole Application Fund Drive for us to continue our advocacy efforts to restore
DACA's Advance Parole and to help as many Dreamers apply for an Advance
Parole permit.

We are raising funds to allow Dreamers to apply for Advance Parole, although
the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) is currently denying this
benefit, to pressure them and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to
follow the court orders that reinstated DACA and to increase the awareness of
Congress about the humanitarian cases and real-life stories behind Dreamer’s
need for Advance Parole.

OUR SINCERE APPRECIATION TO OUR

SPONSORS

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all sponsors and individual donors
who have contributed to the National Campaign to Restore DACA's Advance
Parole since January 2019. Without your support we would not have been able
to take a total of 50 Dreamers to advocate in Washington, D.C. during our
January and June 2019 advocacy with members of congress.
