Class : primary 3 Date: 10/04/2019 Duration: 45 mins


Class profile:
27 students ages 11 – 12. Their proficiency in the English Language
is good but their scientific and general knowledge are limited
Time-table fit:
In the previous lesson: The Ss learned the life cycle of a plant.
In this lesson: They will learn about the Photosynthesis process.
In the following lesson: The Ss will learn the food chain.
Measurable objectives:
Given colored pictures of plant, sun, air and soil SS should be able to
create a roleplay about the photosynthesis process within 5 mins.
(Cognitive domain 6: create)
Given worksheets of unlabeled drawing of the photosynthesis process ss
should be able to label the diagram within 3 minutes. (Cognitive
domain1: remember)
Other learning domains:
Move around during the roleplay (psychomotor)
Compete (affective)
Background knowledge:
Students already had a general concept that plants make their own food
in the leaf when they learned the parts of the plant and their function.
Anticipated problems:
Academic:
1) Ss may not be able to pronounce the word Photosynthesis.
Solution: divide the word into short vowels to help them to pronounce
it smoothly.
Disciplinary:
1) Ss may cause a noise during the roleplay.
Solution: encourage them by the sad and happy face list.
Materials and Visual Aids:
1. Course book and workbook.
2. Lesson plan notebook.
3. White board markers.
4. Flash cards of pictures of plant, soil, sun and air for the
presentation and the roleplay.
5. Worksheets of the photosynthesis diagram for the guided
activity.
