TOTCO OPERATION PROCEDURES

1. Open BOP RAMS

1.1 Hook up hoses by matching lettering to BOP panel end, colour code
tags to main deck loop panel. Brown, purple, green and red hoses
need to be connected from BOP panel directly to BOP with x-over on
purple line.

1.2 Set up panel to read as follows:

1A. Upper ram selector valve Shutdown

1B. Lower ram selector valve Shutdown
2. Remote shutdown isolator Closed
3. BOP accumulator isolate Open
4. BOP air supply On
5. BOP regulator Adjust to START PUMP
6. SSS accumulator Closed
7. SSS isolate Closed
8. SSS vent Closed
9. Pump No.1 On open
10. Pump No.2 Closed
11. Hydrotest isolate Closed
12. Hydrotest vent Closed
13. Hydrotest air supply Off
14. Hydrotest regulator Off
15. Oil / water selector Oil
16. Manual diverter lever Hold Down
17. Wellhead M.S.V. control In

1.3 Hold manual diverter valve down to BOP open mode. When pump first
beings to stroke BOP accumulator pressure gauge should rise to 1000
PSI, this indicates that accumulator pre-charge is correct. If pressure is
below 1000 PSI accumulator pre-charge needs to be altered. Operate
BOP regulator as required. Screw in to start pump, pump will stroke.

1.4 BOP’s will begin to open at about approx. 60 psi indicated on BOP
regulator pressure gauge. BOP’s will be fully open from start of pumping
cycle to fully open in approx. 1 minute.
Pump will begin to labour when rams are fully open. (Confirmed BOP’s
open by checking ram indicator pins).

1.5 While continuing to hold down manual diverter valve in BOP open mode
lock in rams by turning upper (1-A) and lower (1-B) ram selector to
normal position. Continue to hold down manual diverter valve until air
pressure has stabalised in the 3 gauges (located above ram selector).

1.6 Release manual diverter valve handle this will automatically start
diverting oil to accumulator Brown (E), once you have 2100 psi on
accumulator pressure gauge, back off B.O.P. regulator to hold 2100 psi.

2.2 Connect drain pipe from point G on B.O.P control panel (on side) into
bucket.

2.3 Open hydrotest bleed off and isolate valve adjust hydro regulator (14) to
start pump, purge lines until clear water.

2.4 Once oil is flushed turn off hydrotest vent, close hydrotest isolate valve,
run hose from point G on BOP control panel to lubricator needle valve
( x over with bleed off) . Open hydrotest valve.

2.5 Turn on hydrotest air supply (13), adjust hydrotest regulator (14) to start
pumping water to fill up lubricator. Once lubricator is full of water, you
will see hydrotest pressure start to increase pressure up to 3000 psi or
21000 KPA.

2.6 Hold test for 15 minutes. Monitor for leaks. Turn hydrotest air supply
off.

2.7 Once pressure test is completed, bleed down and drain water from
lubricator.

TOTCO OPERATION PROCEDURES

2.8 After using water, select oil/water valve (15) to oil. Ensure hydrotest
(11) isolate valve is open. Select hydro test air supply (13), adjust
hydrotest regulator (14) to start pump. This will purge all water out of
lines plus pump a small amount of oil through haskel pump, which will
help with pump life.

3. Select Oil/Water Valve to Oil and SSSV Rig Up Procedure

3.1 Set up panel as follows:

1A. Upper ram selector valve NA

1B. Lower ram selector valve NA
2. Remote shutdown isolator NA
3. BOP accumulator isolate NA
4. BOP air supply NA
5. BOP regulator NA
6. SSSV accumulator Open
7. SSSV isolate Open
8. SSSV vent Closed
9. Pump No.1 Open
10. Pump No.2 Closed
11. Hydrotest isolate Closed
12. Hydrotest vent Closed
13. Hydrotest air supply Open
14. Hydrotest regulator Adjust to start pump
15. Oil / water selector Oil
16. Manual diverter lever NA
17. Wellhead M.S.V. control NA

3.2 Connect drain pipe with check valve in ½” snaptight fitting from point (F)
on side of BOP control panel into bucket.

3.3 Open, SSSV isolate valve and SSSV accumulator (6). Adjust hydro test
regulator (14) to start pump. Purge lines until clear oil.

3.4 Make sure Hydro-Test Haskel Pump and SSSV (Blue) hose working
pressure – 10,000 psi rated has been purged of water.

3.5 Hook up SSSV Blue hose (1/4” 10,000 psi working pressure) to point F
on BOP control panel and SSSV point on tree.

3.6 Check that SSSV vent (8) is closed. SSSV accumulator (6) and SSSV
isolate (7) is open.

3.7 Turn Hydro-Test air supply (13) on and adjust Hydro-Test regulator (14)
to start pump stroking.

TOTCO OPERATION PROCEDURES

3.8 Once required pressure has been reached, as indicated by SSSV

pressure gauge, adjust Hydro-Test regulator to maintain lock in
regulator.

3.9 To bleed down SSSV shut off Hydro-Test air, crack open SSSV vent (8)
to slowly bleed off pressure, once pressure has bleed off close SSSV
vent, SSSV accumulator and SSSV isolate. Oil is vented to resevor
tank.

4. Alternate Procedure – Opening Rams Independently

4.1 Position upper ram selector in shutdown position.

4.2 Position lower ram selector in normal position.

4.3 Turn on pump #1 BOP air supply hold down manual diverter valve to
BOP open position open BOP regulator (5) and BOP air (4) to required
air pressure.

4.4 Once upper ram is open, check indicator pins while still holding down
manual diverter valve to BOP open position. Turn upper ram selector
lever to normal to lock in ram.

4.5 To open lower ram turn lower ram selector to shutdown and follow steps
4.3 through 4.4

4.6 With upper and lower ram locked into position pressure up
accumulators to 2100 psi adjust BOP regulator to hold that pressure.

4.7 To close rams, turn BOP air supply off, turn upper and lower rams from
normal to shut down.

Note: To bleed accumulator down with BOP air supply in off position,
simply hold down manual diverter valve to BOP charge position.

5. To Pump Upper Rams Shut Independently

5.1 Position upper ram selector in shutdown position.

5.2 Position lower ram selector in normal.

5.3 Turn on pump BOP air supply valve (4).

5.4 Open BOP regulator (5) to required position.

Note: Leave manual diverter lever in up position

TOTCO OPERATION PROCEDURES

6. To Pump Lower Rams Shut Independently

6.1 Position upper ram selector (1-A) in normal position.

6.2 Position lower ram selector (1-B) in shutdown position.

6.3 Open BOP regulator (4) and air supply (5) to required position.

Note: Leave manual diverter lever (16) in up position.

Rigging Up on Well Head

Hook up wellhead hoses to wellhead control panel with appropriate X-overs

(wellhead loop panel):

½” Male no check – ½ male check (Brown)

3/8” Male no check – 3/8 female (Purple)

After obtaining relevant permits rig up TOT BOP on wellhead with Rams left
open after stump test and accumulator bleed down.

Once Totco BOPs are secure on wellhead pump up on accumulator 2,100 psi

At this point E.S.D valve should be checked. This is done with one person
observing the wireline control panel air supply and second person should
evacuate air from loop at the “wireline ESD” valve at the emergency assembly
area. The observed air pressure should bleed rapidly to zero pressure.
