and ways families can promote and support their

Grades SK-3
We read Bubble Gum Brain by Julia Cook.
Students enjoyed chewing bubble gum
(sugar-free of courseJ) while they
stretched their brains by either trying
something new like blowing a bubble or
trying to blow the biggest bubble in their class. I happily
observed students using growth mindset statements while
encouraging their peers to keep trying and to not give up.
Grades 4-5

Students were challenged to

show their knowledge of growth
mindset through an escape room
activity. They solved challenges
by completing puzzles to
decipher the special code
needed to escape before time
was up. This activity focused on
learning from mistakes, the
“power of yet” and perseverance.
