Proposed Title: An Industrial Complex for Philippine Indigenous

Products and Handicrafts
Background of the Study

An Industrial Complex refers to a set of specific industries, with essential

production, marketing and interrelationship in between. It helps the industry to grow and
create more jobs for the locals. The Philippines has a lot of industrial complexes which
cater services like agricultural, utilities, treatment facilities, telecommunications,
warehouses, etc. Filipinos are known to be hardworking, which is why many international
companies build factories and assembly plants in the country. Because of that, it
increases the employment rate for the Filipinos at the same time, promotes different
Philippine-made products.

The Philippines is known to have multiple cultures and traditions that have drawn
international interests by many, but having many global companies in the country can
also affect our economy and native products. Because of new imported products from
other countries, these native products are not appropriately promoted and not prioritized
throughout the country. Handicrafts or Hand-made products and indigenous goods are
one of the things that represent the Philippine culture, tradition and the heritage of the
country. The government should take an interest in promoting and supporting local
products that will help address social issues and economic problems of the Philippines.

The proposed Industrial Complex for Philippine Indigenous products and

Handicrafts aims to promote tourism products and services. This proposal will also
promote high quality and creative development and design that is relative to industrial
parks and complexes.

This study will cover all different kinds of Philippine Indigenous products and
handicrafts and how to create an environment for the users of the facility where these
products will be made. Guidelines, laws, data that is related to the topic of the study, site
documents will be studied to further understand the other considerations on planning and
designing an Industrial Complex. Different kinds of studies and researches will also be
considered as basis to strengthen the proposal further.

The focus of this study will be on showcasing the different indigenous works of the
country, considering different ethnicities from around the country. The proposal will be
about building an unconventional Industrial Complex that will change the stereotypes of
a typical factory and warehouse. It will flourish the new development of industrial planning
and design.
