Code of ethics

The broad principles of ethics is by applying moral values, system, principles and guideline
to conduct a judgement. Ethics is about what is useful for oneself and society. It is also additionally
depicted as moral philosophy. It influence how individuals settle on choices and lead their lives.
Ethical theories are divided into three areas which are meta-ethics, normative ethics and applied
ethics. Meta-ethics manages the idea of moral judgement. It takes a gander at the starting points
and significance of ethical principles. Normative ethics is concerned with the content of moral
judgements and the criteria for what is right or wrong. Applied ethics looks at disputable topics
such as war, animal rights and capital punishment. Ethics furnishes us with an ethical guidance, a
system that we can use to discover our way through heavy and tough issues. Ethics can pinpoint
contradictions and it can be connected to specific cases to give those involved some reasonable
choices by disposing of disarray and clarifying the issues.

Ethics are a technologist most important asset. A technologist without ethics is just a
technologist who has little value in the technical community. Engineering ethics is a set of
scientific discipline that reviews the moral issues, character, policies, relationship and decisions
associating to individuals and organizations related to engineering.

Engineering technology programs are assessed and licensed or accredited by The

Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) utilizing a sets of accreditation
criteria. ABET Codes of ethics gives a structure for ethical judgement for a professional
engineering technologist. No code can be completely cover all the possible ethical circumstances
that a professional engineering technologist experiences. Codes fill in as a starting point for ethical
decision making. A code characterizes the roles and responsibilities of professionals engineering
technologist.
Codes of Ethics

4. Act as faithful agents or trustees in professional matters for employer and client to avoid
conflicts of interest.

5. Build professional reputation on the merit of services by competing fairly.

for the junior engineers.

honor, reputation, and usefulness of the profession.
Safety and risks

Safety means safe practice of system and the prevention of natural or human caused
disaster. One of the fundamental duties of an engineer is to guarantee the safety of the people
who will be affected by the products that he designs. The code of ethics of clarify that safety
is paramount importance to the engineer. The engineering codes of ethics show that engineers
have a duty to the society to create designs that are safe. Nothing can be completely safe but
engineers are required to make designs as safe as possible. Along these lines, safety ought to
be a necessary piece of any engineering design.

Risks is the potential that something undesirable and harmful might happen. All
engineering profession involves risk. It might be in the form of health and safety risks, travel
risks and even liability risks. Innovation in design generally increases risk. More generally,
any change of design will often build chances of increasing the risks. Therefore, precautionary
measures to avoid and prevent risks from happening should be taken into account.

As a conclusion, not all safety issues and risks can be fully avoided. But preventive
measures should be taken to reduce the amount of risks that may or can occur. Furthermore, it
is an engineering job to care about the safety of the individuals that consume and uses their
design. Therefore, they should improve their design safety before handing it out to consumers
by doing various tests.
