RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

Question 1: What are the Graduation Rates of Barangays of Butuan City?

Table 1 shows the Graduation Rate of each of the 15 Barangays in Butuan


City and the corresponding percentage. This figures hold that only 1 Barangay or 7%
of the total Barangays garnered a GR of above 90-100 while there were 3 or 20% of
the total Barangays got GR of above 80-89.In addition, 1 Barangay registered a 20-
29 GR. The rest are spread across GR ranging from 30-79.

Question 2: What is the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) of Barangays of Butuan


City?

Table 2 shows the profile of the Barangays in Butuan City using their Internal
Revenue Allotment. The data manifest that 9 or 60% of the barangays in Butuan City
have an IRA within the 350-399 range. In addition, 20% are having an IRA of 350
and below while the remaining 20% of the barangays are receiving an IRA of above
400 which included the two barangays that garnered the largest IRA.

Question 3: Is there a significant relationship between Graduation Rate (GR) and


Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) In Butuan City?

Table 3 shows the Regression Analysis of the relationship between the


Graduation Rate and Internal Revenue Allotment of Barangays in Butuan City. The
table displays an 86% R, which means that there is a positive relationship between
GR and IRA of barangays. In addition, R Squared with the value of 74% determined
that IRA can somehow be influenced by the level of Graduation Rate in the
Barangays. Furthermore, it is implied that a P-Value of 0.000035 that there is a
statistical significance between the GR and IRA in barangays of Butuan City. Thus,
Graduation Rate is a significant factor in determining the Internal Revenue Allotment
of the Barangay.

Question 4: Based on the results, what intervention program or policy can be


proposed?

In all the foregoing data that were gathered, it can be concluded that higher
Graduation Rate in Barangays of Butuan City indicated a positive or significant
relationship with the Internal Revenue Allotment of the said Barangays. Accordingly,
intensifying actions toward improving the Graduation Rate within the barangay will
strongly benefit the community as a whole since it can mean that the people in
Barangay have achieve a higher educational status and that education brings with it
Job Opportunities. Furthermore, job opportunities imply a higher share of IRA and
will then give a chance for the barangay to expand projects for the betterment of its
people. Thus, it is highly recommended that the barangay will venture in creating
community-based activities in order to reach out to young individuals and drive them
to give priority in education. Sponsoring School-Related Contest, symposiums,
seminars and even Barangay scholarship grants are just some of the activities that
can be done by the barangay. This will then cause a higher chance in improving the
graduation rate of Barangay that will eventually equate to higher share of Internal
Revenue Allotment in the future.
