SYSTEM ANALYSIS: INTRODUCTION

In the system analysis phase, the main aim here is to analyses the system that is currently being

used by the organization for flow of information. The system that deals with the investigation of

the current system and the exploration of the current process of information flow. It is the

process of examining a situation of business for the purpose of developing a solution to a

problem or provides improvements to the existing situation. It also deals with the collecting,

interpreting, identifying the problems, and decomposition of a system in order to identify its

objectives.

Usage example

 After the systems analysis was over, the men told us what our problems were and how to

fix them in a productive manner.

 You should have a good system analysis in place so that you can know that everything is

always running smoothly.

PROJECT PROPOSAL

A project proposal is the attempt to respond or to take advantage of a particular situation and is

an essential element for correctly launching the system analysis. There are some content to

address the project proposal.

 Specification of business situation.

 Significance of the problem of a business.

 Alternative solution.

 Use of computer information systems to solve the problem.

 People interested to the knowledge relevant to the problem.

System projects are to be submitted to different departments and approved by a

committee rather by an individual. The project proposal which is submitted to the

committee that determines the merits and demerits of the proposal and decides whether it

is approved in the organization or not.

THE SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE

The system development life cycle, also referred to the application development life cycle, the

term used in system engineering to describe a process of planning, creating, testing, and

deploying an information system. It is mainly a problem solving process. It brings about a

solution to the business situation. The System development life cycle consist of the following

phases:

 Preliminary investigation- the problem is defined and investigated.

 Requirement analysis- current system and new system analysis.

 System design- developed with the purpose of planning and construction of new

business.

 System development- new system is created.

 System analysis- current system is converted to the new system.

 System evaluation and monitoring- for the purpose of enhancing its performance and

adding value.

We are discussing these in detail:

PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION

The first phase of system development life cycle is preliminary investigation. Due to limited

resources the business can undertake only those projects that are related to the mission, goals and

objectives. The planning process is carried out by senior managers. It sets the stage for gathering

information about the current problem and existing information system. Their main objective is

to answer the following questions: what is the business problem? What are the major causes of

problem? This information has a broad range and focuses on understanding the project size, cost,

benefits and compares all possible projects

FEASIBILITY STUDY

The feasibility study investigates the problem and information needs of the stakeholders. It seeks

to determine the resources required to provide an information system solution, and the feasibility

solution. It gathers the information using a variety of methods:-

 Interviewing customers, employees and managers.

 Developing and administrating questionnaires to interested stakeholders.

 Observing users of the current system to determining their needs with system.

 Collecting, examining, and analyzing reports, procedures relating to the current system.

 Modeling and observing the current system.

There are some components:-

 Economic feasibility

 Technical feasibility

 Operational feasibility
REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS

The phase is an analysis of the stakeholders information needs. This leads to defining the

requirements of the computer information system. These requirements are then incorporated into

the design phase. The main goal of the analyst is to identify what should be done, now how to do

it. The following are the discussions:-

 Information Needs to the Stakeholders.

 The Current Information System

 The Capabilities Of The New Information System

SYSTEM DESIGN
The plan stage comes after a decent comprehension of client's prerequisites; this stage

characterizes the components of a framework, the parts, the security level, modules, design and

the distinctive interfaces and kind of information that experiences the framework. A general

framework configuration should be possible with a pen and a bit of paper to decide how the

framework will look like and how it will capacity, and after that a definite and extended

framework configuration is created, and it will meet all utilitarian and specialized necessities,

consistently and physically.

SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
This stage comes after a total comprehension of framework prerequisites and details, it's the

genuine development process subsequent to having a total and shown structure for the asked for

framework. In the Software Development Life Cycle, the real code is composed here, and on the

off chance that the framework contains equipment, at that point the usage stage will contain

setup and calibrating for the equipment to meet certain necessities and capacities.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
The end-client's prerequisites ought to be resolved and reported, what their desires are for the

framework and how it will perform. A possibility study will be made for the venture too,

including deciding if it's hierarchically, monetarily, socially, mechanically attainable. it's vital to

keep up solid correspondence level with the customers to ensure you have an unmistakable

vision of the completed item and its capacity.

SYSTEM EVALUATION AND MONITORING

In this stage, intermittent support for the framework will be done to ensure that the framework

won't wind up outdated, this will incorporate supplanting the old equipment and consistently

assessing framework's execution, it likewise incorporates giving most recent updates to specific

segments to ensure it satisfies the correct guidelines and the most recent advancements to

confront current security dangers.

CONCLUSION: These are the principle six periods of the System Development Life Cycle,

and it's an iterative procedure for each task. It's imperative to make reference to that astounding

correspondence level ought to be kept up with the client, and Prototypes are vital and supportive

with regards to meeting the prerequisites. By structure the framework in short cycles; we can

ensure meeting the client's necessities before we construct the entire framework.
Role of System Analyst

The framework examiner is an individual who is completely mindful of the framework and aids

the framework improvement venture by giving legitimate bearings. He is a specialist having

specialized and relational aptitudes to complete advancement undertakings required at each

stage. He seeks after to coordinate the destinations of data framework with the association

objective.

Fundamental Roles are:

 Characterizing and understanding the necessity of client through different Fact

discovering procedures.

 Organizing the perquisites by acquiring client accord.

 Social event the actualities or data and secures the sentiments of clients.

 Keeps up examination and assessment to touch base at proper framework which is more

easy to use.

 Proposes numerous adaptable elective arrangements, pick the best arrangement, and

evaluate cost and advantages.

 Draw certain determinations which are effectively comprehended by clients and

developer in exact and point by point structure.

 Executed the legitimate structure of framework which must be measured.

 Plan the periodicity for assessment after it has been utilized for quite a while, and change

the framework as required.
