Teorema:
Quando o gráfico de uma função “passa” por uma raiz de multiplicidade
ímpar (1 ou 3 ou 5 ou 7 ou ...) ele atravessa o eixo x. Em conseqüência
disso, ao “passar” por uma raiz de multiplicidade ímpar, a
função muda de sinal.
Quando o gráfico de uma função “passa” por uma raiz de multiplicidade
par (2 ou 4 ou 6 ou 8 ou ...) ele tangencia o eixo x. Em conseqüência
disso, ao “passar” por uma raiz de multiplicidade par, a
função não muda de sinal.
Uma parte do gráfico da função polinomial P(x) = a0xn + a1xn – 1 + a2xn – 2 +...+an
