Class Notes

Making Plans
Date: 29 May 2019

Task #1: For my studies

I) Model Responses

I think today the most important thing is bullying and socialization with other people.

It's an example of my family - I have a cousin and my aunt asked him to start a course at university
but he didn't want to do that course.
If you study a long time ago (in advance) you are more prepared for that exam and you won't have a
lot of stress.

My advice is to read things in English and listen to series and videos and movies. Do exercises every
day is a great thing that you can do to improve your English.

Statements from class

No matter how much you plan, life's unpredictable.

Sometimes you could plan your life but life is unpredictable.

Whether you like it or not, you have to deal with what life throws at you.

There's rarely time to think things through, you often just have to roll with the punches.

You have to stay prepared with everything.

To prove that you're capable, always push yourself to the limit.

Whenever you feel life's too much, you might want to take a step back.
II) Corrections

He don't (doesn't) know what he wants to do at the moment.

It could generate stressful (stress) You have to relax more before the exam and other things to not
generate this problem.

Sometimes when I feel stress I take a glass of tea. (cup of tea) It makes me feel better.

I always see (look at) the schedule of my exams.

III) Vocabulary

I've advised my father not to do it.

They cannot work underage.

Passionfruit

IV) Pronunciation

to advise (advised)
unpredictable

V) Conversation Task: Feedback

You gave good advice. Revise some of the new expressions we learnt in class such as “you have to
be prepared for what life throws at you.”

Task #2: For this week

I) Model Responses

Training materials take a long time to develop. I don't know if I could to finish it and deliver it to you on
Friday.

A sales report is a little bit faster.

Language from exercise:

I may have gotten the necessary information by next Tuesday.

I’ll have the work done by the end of the weekend.
I won’t have finished both tasks by then.
I’ll have to miss the deadline my manager set.

II) Corrections
By the way we are on the track. The only things we need to finish for this product is a key. We are
waiting for key to finish this product. (‘key’ was an adjective as in ‘key information’ and not a noun in
this context)

III) Vocabulary

key information (key is an adjective)

IV) Pronunciation

finished
struggling
re-evaluate
prioritize

V) Conversation Task: Feedback

You did a good job explaining how long it will take to finish the different tasks. Practice
some of the model language to discuss when you can finish something such as “I won’t have
finished it by then.”
