General Guidelines:
1. The use of 2.4 GHz radio is required for all aircraft in the competition. No other frequencies are allowed.
2. No interchanging of receivers or transmitter from plane after the inspection of the plane.
3. Electronic components used in the plane should be completely shown functional during the
inspection. The team won't be allowed to fly without passing the inspection.
4. Pilot can position himself at any point in the arena to fly the aircraft during the rounds.
5. Metal propellers are not allowed.
6. Plane weight should be less than or equal to 2Kg (Including payload).
7. Plane should be built from scratch and not purchased in a ready to fly condition.
8. Professional flyers are not allowed to participate.
(Age limit - 25 and below)
9. College/Employee Identity Card should be brought during the competition.
10. Any of the above mentioned rules, if found violated, teams will not be allowed to participate in the
competition and registration amount will not be reimbursed.
Abstract Submission
1. All the participants need to submit an abstract on their aircraft, which should contain minimum of 5
pages (excluding cover page) and maximum of 10 pages.
2. The Abstract must document the basic design of the aircraft (dimensions, wing areas, velocity, etc.)
and should also explain how their design is suitable for given problem.
3. Along with the abstract, Participants also have to send a zip file (less than 5MB) containing 4
photographs (Top view, Front view, Side view, Isometric view) of the aircraft.
4. The Abstract has to be submitted as per the standard format (Details are given below).
5. The Abstract submission period is between 14-09-2019 to 18-09-2019.
6. Points will be given according to the submission date i.e ,
Report should be sent in PDF format to the below mail address with the filename as <Registration ID>/<college
name>.pdf
aeromodelling@aerophilia.com
Deadline: September 18 2019
(Reports must strictly adhere to the above requirements, failing which the reports will not be considered
for bonus)
Design Constraints
1. The plane should be accumulated inside a Cuboidal Box, shown in Fig. (a)
Fig. a
l→ Length, h →Height and w→ width (w.r.t opening)
• Qualifying round:
The plane should be assembled from the container and it must be in a flying condition and then
directly taken to the flying field.
1. The plane should take off and take one round of the ground (to qualify).
2. If the plane crashes 2nd attempt would be allowed (penalty time would be added) and must start from
the assembling of the plane again.
3. Take off, fly up in altitude until air boss signals, then cut of the throttle, glide the plane and land in
the provided area.
→20 Points
2nd Round (Maneuvers):
List of Maneuvers:
Round 1
Take-off, complete one round of the ground and land the plane within the runway, 1st condition fig 1.1
Landing within a & b 20 Points
b & c 15 Points
c & d 10 Points
d & e 5 Points
e & f 3 Points
2nd condition
1. Landing outside the specified area carries no points and the area where the aircraft stops within allotted
area is considered for points
2. Pilot has to call which maneuver he is about to perform to the air boss.
Take flight for 30s with the payload and land on the runway.
Pf = the weight carried by the plane in grams / Total weight of plane in grams
