LRMDS OVERVIEW

What is LRMDS?
The Learning Resources Management and Development System provides the
mechanisms to support coordinated and integrated access to quality resources by
DEP ED Regions, Divisions and Cluster/School levels.

What does LRMDS do?

LRMDS functions as a clearinghouse to:


 Provide information about the location of resources (physical copies e.g., text-
books, training manuals, lesson guides, CDs, charts, maps)
 Allows users of the system to access & download directly digitized versions
of resources that are published and stored in multiple formats within the
LRMDS repository
 Web based portal with a searchable catalogue and online repository of
learning, teaching and professional development resources .

THE LRMDC SERVICES

LRMDC SERVICES

Circulation Services—instructional materials and other


reading materials are available for reading, research and
instruction of teachers and other
clientele.

Internet Services—clientele could access and download


graphic materials, DepEd memos/ orders and other
relevant information from the internet. Furthermore, they
could avail online transactions for free but on a
“first- come first-served” basis.

Reprographic Services—these include fax, printing,


scanning, laminating and photocopying.
Clientele are allowed to print, fax, scan, and reproduce
materials for their research and instruction but with mini-
mal fee to augment bond paper and ink expenses. (pls.
refer to service fees)

CD/ DVD Burning—burning is free but a


certain fee will be collected for CDs and DVDs to be used.

Information Dissemination Services—through social


networks (gmail, ymail, facebook, twitter), concerned
teachers/ school heads can be notified/ updated.

NOTE:
 ALL DepEd employees can avail of the LRMDS services
 Use of flash drives is strictly prohibited
 Reservation of LR equipment should be made 2 days before use.
 All learning resource materials are for room use only except for Big books.
 All documents should be saved on CDs since documents saved on computer
drives will be automatically deleted after shut down.
 Please refer to policies and guidelines for step-by-step procedures.
POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

LRMDC SERVICES POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

A. CIRCULATION SERVICES
a. Identify what learning resource (LR) is needed
b. Fill-up LR card
c. Receive the LR and proceed to the reading area
d. Return the LR

B. INTERNET SERVICES
a. Register in the logbook for internet use
b. Surf the internet
c. Ask for technical assistance from LR staff if needed
d. Save/Print files downloaded

C. PHOTOCOPYING, SCANNING AND PRINTING


a. Secure and fill-up photocopy service form
b. Seek approval of the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS)
c. Give approved form to LR staff
d. Receive charge slip and pay amount due at the Cashier’s Office
e. Present Official Receipt (OR) to LR Staff

CD/ DVD BURNING


a. Seek CD Burning Form
b. Fill-up form and proceed to SDS or OIC for approval
c. Present form to LR Staff
d. Provide CDs for burning (if no CDs provided, pay amount due to the Cashier’s Office
and present OR to LR Staff)

ENCODING/ EDITING
a. Log-in to the Computer Use Logbook
b. Properly turn on the desktop computer to be used. Request the assistance of LR staff
when needed.
c. Encode, edit documents
d. Save file in CD
e. Properly shut down the computer

RESERVATION OF LR EQUIPMENT
a. Fill-up LR equipment reservation form
b. Seek approval of the SDS or OIC
c. Present approved form to LR Staff
d. Log-in to the Reservation of LR Equipment Logbook
e. Return on the designated date to get LR equipment
f. Return barrowed LR equipment the day after use.

Resource Types

1. Learning Resources (LRs) are any digital or non-digital educational resource with a
learning purpose. These resources are designed to be used directly by the students/
learners and/ or integrated into teacher developed lesson plans.

2. Teaching Resources (TRs) are any educational resource digital or non-digital that
supports teachers in curriculum development, delivery and pedagogy or teacher
trainers in the delivery of professional development programs.

3. Professional Development Materials (PDMs) are any digital or non-digital education


training and development resource or program designed with a training and
development purpose.

The LRs, TRs and PDMs:


i) may be accessed directly from the web based repository (lrmds.deped.gov.ph) and, or
ii) availability is communicated by the system.

Resource Formats
Resources accessed and located via the LRMDS may be provided in one or more of
the following formats:

Non-digital: (print-based) training and teaching manuals, workbooks, lesson plan


guides (e.g. PROBE, SEDIP materials, BEAM printed Learning Guides),
visual aids or reference books.)
Digital: lesson plan guides, worksheet activity, manipulative & interactive learning
resource, training modules, CDs, videos, DVD and referenced, quality
assured websites.
